Halo 4 IS in fact a good game.

I stopped going on Halo related forums after the release of Halo 3 purely because it seemed impossible to have an intelligent conversation about the Halo franchise anymore. I thought to myself that seeing as Halo was now in the hands of another studio that could actually bring Halo back to its former glory, maybe their forums would have some good discussions going on. I was very wrong.

There are complaints being thrown out everywhere here which are neither constructive or correct. The majority of people have been throwing out insults saying Bungie should still have Halo but they really shouldn’t. Halo is in the right hands now, you can feel the love and hardwork that has been poured into this game and you can feel how passionate 343i are about this franchise, they deserve this. 343i currently have a higher success rate than Bungie did with Halo, 343i are going to 2 for 2 whereas Bungie ended up with 2 successes out of 5 (Halo: CE and Halo 3 of course).

It seems like people here want another Halo 3 or another Reach rather than a fresh Halo. If 343i had made a carbon copy with a few extra guns or new abilities then I can quite assure you all that you would get bored very quickly. If you want to play games like that then go play those games. Gaming as a whole keeps moving forward so studios have to move franchises forward too and that is what 343i have done with Halo 4.

Halo 4 has all the best bits of the mechanics from the previous games with a modern flare added to the mixture. They have made an absolutely outstanding game and they deserve more credit from you people that call yourselves fans, the game may not be perfect but it truly is outstanding. We missed the BR in Reach, they gave us the BR back. We missed having more than 2 types of grenades in Reach, they gave us another grenade type. We wanted team play to come back so they have tried to force it in certain gametypes.

The one thing that the majority of people are actually agreeing on is how amazing the Campaign is and that’s really good because it is an amazing Campaign. It wouldn’t have been the same without all of the motion capture they did though. They were able to that because of the advancements that have been made in technology and gaming. +1 to moving forward.

Everyone at 343i deserves to give themselves a pat on the back for delivering such a good game and all the actors deserve one to. 343i are genuinely grateful for the trust fans have placed in them and one of my favourite things about Halo 4 is that they openly admitted how grateful they are. How’s about we all give 343i a big thank you and if we feel there are some flaws in the game that we express it in a constructive way? Maybe we could all stop accusing them of not listening too as we all know they do listen but they are entitled to a break over Xmas.

Remember, Halo 2 was full of glitches and was ruled by the modding community. Halo 3 had a bunch of fixes made to it before people were happy. Halo: Reach only became mildly playable after the 343i TU. Halo 4 is still new, it didn’t have a public beta either.

As I stated earlier, this game is not perfect. I feel there are some changes that could be made like taking the Jetpack out of MM, it breaks the gameplay completely. I think Spartan Ops fell a bit short of the mark too, I love the videos that are released each week but the missions feel too bland. I think DMR as a spawn weapon is a bit too much, it should be Ordnance as it keeps the fights at too long a range and the maps and gametypes suffer because of it. The flag carrier not being able to drop the flag is a welcome addition but I think it should be optional if you want to pick it up, not compulsory if you walk over it.

Show each other some respect on here and show the developers some respect too. By all means voice your opinions but do it sensibly and try to be productive with it. If you want 343i to listen to what we think is wrong with the game then give them a reason to listen to what you have to say and give them some points on how you think the game could be improved not things like “OMG Halo 4 sucks, I’m not buying Halo 5, I’ll just rent it”. Stupid statements like that aren’t helpful and they just hide the better comments and topics on these forums.

Stopped reading there.

Do some research before making ridiculous and false statements.

I’ve been watching the different complaints constantly surfacing which has been the “research” and has led to me saying what I’ve said. There is nothing ridiculous or false about it but hey, I was ready for the hate.

There have been plenty of constructive and polite posts advocating for change, but it’s clear that you and others like you ignore them for the sake of pushing your own agenda of preaching how people complain for the sake of complaining.

No youre right. The game has some sucky aspects to it, but for the most part its the way people play that ruin the game. Of course everyone can nit pick what theyd change, but for me, the first things I would change would be things that force people to communicate and work as a team. I’d really love a playlist that requires a mic.

Sure enough there have been some constructive and polite posts but they are so few in numbers. I read those too as they are in fact the only ones worth reading and are the only ones that will end up doing any good.

I couldn’t agree more, not every playlist but some do require a certain level of teamwork that isn’t possible without vocal communication. Party Chat killed Game Chat and more games should support gametypes which force Game Chat.

I do think Halo 4 is good. yes it has flaws, it has issues, but all games can have that problem.

the only thing I felt was a major dissapointment was that Elites where not plaayble in multiplayer. but I liked everything else.

People used to complain constantly about the Elites not taking headshots properly in H3 and then them becoming too much for Spartans in Reach so I personally feel they made a good call by making them non-playable in H4.

the logic behiend that was the spartan III’s where weak. and personaly I was able to headshot the elites in H3 with no problem.

Opinions, opinions!

I’ll probably be banned for this but from what I’ve seen, the modding community in Halo 4 is off to a great start, regarding gametypes…

LOL!! Gaming moving forward??? Look at COD!! They kept what the FANS LOVE in every game, didnt change for how long??? Look at cods success rate, im pretty sure if they kept halo 3’s vibe and added their own spice to the game it would be much better. Get out of here!!

and besides that, if the complainers wern’t complaing about way the agameplay is they would’ve complained evan more about the drawebacks that came with the changes they wanted.

everything is a doble-edged sword. evan the chanegs they want could bring somehting they don’t like in the game.

I Love Halo 4. My favorite Halo Game so far.

The main reason why Halo is my favorite game, its because of the Gameplay against AI. Halo 4 has the best Halo AI competition I have never seen.

This guy is right, double edge sword. This game is okay, I don’t think its good yet. It needs some TLC in the matchmaking area. As for the OP, maaan I think your putting words in the mouths of others.

I agree, it’s a great game.

Wow.
You claim Halo 4 to be an amazing game - and then advocate for a core AA to be removed because you think it "breaks the gameplay?"
My dude. The Jetpack is just one element on a loooooooong list of game breaking mechanics added to Halo in Reach and now 4.
I find it absolutely hilarious that you think the Jetpack is the worse offender of disrupting quality gameplay.

Some people’s expectations of what things should be are some times different than the actual outcome. I go with the train of thought that they made the game, I didn’t. I’m not saying that my expectations were not met, I’ve learned over my 30+ years of gaming that having expectations will generally lead to disappointment.

When it runs well its very very good and when it lags its rotten.
