The title says it all. Too much lag. Messed up playlist with low population. What the hell 343? Ever since that Global Championship crap was put on the playlist, everything all of a sudden got really really crappy. I was already happy when you guys made that update with the weapon tuning and added rumble pit and big team skirmish. But no, you had to take out rumble pit and add “Global Championship” pshhh more like Global Lagfest. You’ve made the whole game super laggy. And it’s funny because when I play on my PS3 and play Killzone 3 there’s 0 lag. I repeat ZERO LAG, but when i play my beloved Halo 4, it’s all of a sudden like playing on super low speed internet connection which I do not have. I have Verizon FiOS and it’s pretty freaking fast. Also the Battle Rifle’s damage buff is totally not in effect, why?? BECAUSE OF THE LAG! What supposed to be a 4 shot kill to the head becomes what it used to be, 5 shot. The lag is breaking the experience for me and I am getting frustrated to the core. I join a game it lags. I quit and join another game, laggy too. I have a 1 out of 10 chance that I will get a good game that doesn’t lag. PLEASE FIX THIS. Because if you don’t then what you’re trying to fix with the playlist population and all that is not going to work at all. CTF has already pummeled down. Used to have abour 4,000 players in it, now under a thousand. This is ridiculous. I just can’t get a game. I’ve tried everything to improve the connection but nope. I’ve disconnected everything that was connected to my router except my Xbox 360 and guess what the results are??? LAGFEST 2013!!! FIX. THIS.

Either way, I don’t ever see any lag that’s bad enough for this kind of rant.

Actually lag that bad has been around since day 1. People have complained about it everyday for the past 8 or so months, nothing new here.

I really love this excuse.
“It’s not my problem, so therefor it’s not, your problem.”
If it’s not your problem then chances are you’re the one pulling host and taking advantage of the problem.
A simple “Good Connection” setting that should be standard for all games, but for no reason isn’t, is the real problem here.
Halo 4 has always been quite laggy since launch. Being that I install cable I have picked up a few things that can improve your connection.
A. If possible connect you 360 to your router via ethernet cable instead of using a Wi-fi connection. Wi-fi immediately produces a small amount of lag.
B. Port-forward your Xbox 360 so your router has dedicated ports of connection.
C. Resetting your router. Turn off you router for at least five minutes. Make sure ALL device that connect to internet are Turn it back on and wait for it to reconnect to the internet. Connect you Xbox 360 the router before connecting any other device.
Hope this helps some. If not it’s probably just Halo 4 being laggy.
HALO 4 IS GOING DOWN, AGAIN.
hmmmm and when did it go up?

hahahahahhahahahahahah good one
At least now i don’t have to worry about spending $560 for an xbox one and halo 5. Thank you 343
I’ve always been confused by the whole lag thing, I live in the UK and I’ve encountered barely any lag on Halo 4. Actually I’ve encountered more with Reach and Halo 3!
From my experiences the complaints of ‘Halo 4 lag’ are utter nonsense
I had pretty bad lag in the global playlist today. The host sucked and I couldn’t kill for crap. One game disconnected me. Usually I shrug something like that off but with something like the global championship it sure got me riled up.
Same here. I’m from Europe and almost every game connection is good. And I know that I am not a host.
Sometimes when I’m in a party it knows to start lagging. But it depends on how bad or good connection my friend has.
The lag for me has never been really bad.
Also, the era of “host” based matchmaking is nearing its end with the “xbox one” so stay positive for the future
Down here, playing Halo 4 is equal to playing Halo 3 on a yellow bar and that’s on a good connection.
> Too much lag
And you couldn’t post in an already active thread because…?

I have my ethernet cord plugged straight into the router, have only lagged a handful of times since launch last Nov. Xfinity is who I use, it’s around 14gps or whatever the rating is, which 14 is “mid-grade” speed I believe. This is also with my girlfriend streaming netflix on a laptop at the same time with both our iPhones connected too.
I find it lags more in playlists that have under 1,000 players, like Legendary Slayer for instance (which is sad because I love it).

I’m in the states, but I agree. Reach had way more lag than 4 does. Been a while since 3, can’t recall.

Spoken like a true die-hard competitive fan of Halo…
Cya, and enjoy Killzone.

Hmm, for me it’s exactly opposite, Halo Reach now and in the past for me has barley laged at all (and no Black Screen Hell), compared to h4, which while I do get good games now and again, the games that are Black Screen Hell, Lag from mild to “OMG”, double vehichle spawns, and more , by far outpace the GOOD games.
also not just Reach , the other games I play (on XBOX , not COD , Hate that game) do not Lag or Lag as much as h4.
Does anyone else experience lag about halfway through a match occasionally? For example, my team will be winning a game when suddenly my character starts glitching all over the place. My shots won’t confirm and then magically the other team starts going on a steamroll. Its happened enough to where I doubt its just a random occurence.
