So in an interview, when asked about “where the MC will get his weapons” Frank O´Connor replied: "-Well obviously he will get most of his weapons from the giant military frigate that he is on"
Rumors have circulated about battlefields bigger than ever before, and a world considting of “tiers” instead of levels.
Could this indicate a new level design style for H4, maybe even freeroam?
Like / dislike?
Since Master Chief and Cortana are the only ones on that ship, and considering that Cortana is incapable of actually delivering weapons to Master Chief, I’d have to say that he probably will have to travel back to Forward Unto Dawn Second Half occasionally to get some more weapons and ammo.
I’d actually be all for a free roaming Halo, you know like Halo 3 ODST. It worked then, so it would probably work with Halo 4. Not to mention I had fun just endlessly exploring the city of New Mombasa for hours.

> Yes, that.

well that mas more of an issue of technology, It cant be easy to put all the level stuff in on one giant map. plus the way the story was told prevented you from fighting the scarabs or haveing large scale battles.
only thing im concerned about with halo 4 is if it’s going to be annoying to go back and forward getting equipment from forward unto dawn. hopefully you will at least be able to drive a warthog around or something
to tell you the truth if its gonna be free-roam atleast have a scene where your driving a mongoose and land inside the bay of a pelican and fly the pelican to safety.{all of that with u fully in control of the mongoose and pelican}
Assuming it IS going to be like ODST, its more likely that there’ll be caches of weapons around, rather than having to trek back to the Dawn every firefight.
We can’t even rule out the possibility that humans are an enemy and we can simply take their weapons.

What?
It’s just implying that there are a lot of weapons aboard the Frigate. People read too much into these things…

Yes, there are a lot of weapons aboard the Frigate. But Master Chief can’t exactly carry them all with him, now can he?

He was fine in the other 3 games. You didn’t see MC run back to the PoA in Halo CE to get some pistol ammo. Last level excluded…

they’re probably gonna just do the pick your weapon set and get out thing and after u run out of amo u gotta rely on whats on the map.
I dislike ‘free roam games’. Sorry, but I derive too much enjoyment out of cleverly crafted level design. Some free roam is good, like what Halo already offers, but something on the level of GTA or RDR would be unwelcomed in my Halo experience.

That would be terrible gameplay.
One possible way I see it working, is if the Frigate crashes on/in the planet and debris goes everywhere - Effectively resupplying the MC during the Campaign.
Or you know. There could be UNSC there for some strange reason.
Please not. I think it makes longer to complete the games unnecesary… It’s like Mass Effect; I like it, put I’d prefer a closer history without so large dialogues (I like them, but it comes a time you have clicked so many options…) a not expending time inside the ship and just go, letting be crawled by the story development.
I like that aspect of Halo: its gameplay is simple (a lot compared to other games, like the one already mencioned, where you have as well decide your team’s weapons during combat) and not complicated, avoiding having to come back a long way again.

Whose to say that the MC wont have allies during the campaign? I would miss my little marine buddies if they wernt there to be my distraction on legendary.
Whose to say that the Elite covenant seperatists or the UNSC wont pick up on cortana’s distress signal and come to the rescue?

That was different. Master Chief had the marines back then, so he’d get weapons and vehicles delivered to him from Pelicans, or he’d scavenge them from dead marines. This time, he’s on his own.
