Your right, but if you don’t like it and still playing hoping for something big, don’t be surprise if not much is added. People are asking for alot and don’t know what they want at the same time.

All I want are ranks, weapon rebalances, a normal slayer playlist, and less lag.

I play Halo 4 and I do not fall into such a generalization.
> Honestly, if we all dislike how Halo 4 turned out, yes that includes me people. Then why don’t we ALL put the game down…and simply walk away from it?
And I did for a few weeks.
Then I picked it back up today. Had slight fun with it. Then got bored again.
It’s like an ugly chick with a bangin’ body. You at least do a double take because her body is hot. ((((Shrugs)))) They are hypocrites. I wouldn’t play a game that I have so many reasons why I don’t like it. Hell, I wouldn’t buy it in the first place. People are hilarious. So let me get this straight. People claim they can’t stand the game but still play it. PRICELESS!!!

I’ll do ya one better. The same thing happened with Reach. Everyone who said they hated it seemed to have difficulty putting it down. Now, on other Halo community sites, I’ve seen the same people praising Reach.

Take your own advice.
I still play this game, and add to that 100k.
And I can’t -Yoinking!- stand it 95% of the time, much like the others I play with that know NOTHING about these forums’ existence.
Just because someone is participating in a game, doesn’t mean they’re enjoying it. Once upon a time I drove a Dodge Stratus and couldn’t stand the thing, but it was all i owned at the time.
OP - I agree and I have been waiting for a post like this. Please encourage all of the people who dislike the game to walk away and stop posting in the forum. That would be a nice relief that many of us would appreciate. You are not going to get even half of what you guys deem as necessary anyways, yet you are still playing. Why? In fact, don’t answer that! Please continue to bump this thread and take as many people as you can with you.

I beg to differ. You have to take into account those people are still Halo fans. I never liked Reach. Still I kept playing it much longer than I would have played if it wasn’t Halo. What kept me going were those rare moments when I felt none of the game’s problems, Team Snipers, and custom games. There even was a this period when I played Reach, but the only thing I played was ZBNS Slayer in custom games, with those rare moments when my friend managed to persuade me to play snipers. (I eventually got bored of it being more like regular Slayer with very limited sandbox, rather than actual snipers due to people’s excessive use of grenades and pistol.)
I so desperately wanted to like Reach, but that doesn’t mean I managed to. And now I really have to ask: are you sure that they are the same you see now praising Reach that you have seen disliking it? I am asking because there is no “Halo cycle”. People don’t magically start liking a game they dislike. It’s just a false perception people create when trying to look for the most simple explanation. But in the end, no matter how hard you try, people don’t suddenly change their opinions.
The people who complain are not always the same people. I would estimate the majority of the people who complained about Halo 2 have already left the community long ago. They have been replaced by the people whose first Halo was Halo 2, and they naturally love their first Halo game. Same goes for Halo 3. Additionally, I would estimate that currently the majority of the people who dislike Halo 4 are ones from the Halo 3 era, which explains the Halo 3 praising. Now, will the community shift in favor of those who came during the Reach era? Will enough people who liked Reach dislike Halo 4? Only time will tell. But still, someone who dislikes Reach will dislike it to the end of their life.

I played H:CE on PC, but didn’t play H2, only because the marketing for it in Australia largely neglected to mention anything about PC, just XBox, XBox, XBox. When my friends got 360’s, they all got H3, so I ended up playing a lot of multiplayer. When I got my 360, H3 was my first purchase, also got ODST & Reach. While Reach wasn’t an arena shooter, I still enjoyed it (on par with H3 for me), but it is as close as I wanted to get to a class-based arcade shooter. As for H4, if customs & forge are fixed, I’ll play customs without loadouts or with game set loadouts.
So I guess I can put my hand up for liked Reach, dislike H4…

I already know to take my own advice thanks (;
But what I can’t get my head round is that you play the game when you don’t like it (yeah theres still the 5% but you get me). A car, even one you don’t like, is something you have to use at times. Work, emergency and many other reasons I could list give reason to owning a car you don’t like, but playing a game you don’t like? Come on. If it’s the only game you own then I’m 99% positive a trade-in will get you enough credit for another game (maybe 2?!)
I can’t see any logic there so I can’t assume that there aren’t too many people who play the game even if they don’t like it… well apart from the people who “quit” Halo 4.

Blops 2 is the obvious answer when it comes to numbers, but only because EVERYONE buys it, mainly because its relatively simple to understand. Ask anyone you know with a PS3/Xbox and 90% will say they own the new CoD, its like tradition to buy every year. Farcry 3 has so few numbers playing multiplayer that I wouldn’t know it was a new(ish) game.

Halo is a campaign/single player driven game. I have friends come over and play splitscreen or we just play over live ALL OF THE TIME! It’s not like Halo is 100% about the mathchmaking and custom games. I love the multiplayer and all, but halo is about the campaign.

Because a lot of people really care about the franchise, and want to help make it better. By telling 343 what they think is wrong, or could be improved on.
Don’t expect people to just up and leave from a franchise that they’ve been loyal to for over a decade.
Don’t tell me all the threads here are garbage either; there are plenty of threads that’re completely rational and productive.
Case and point: TimeGlitch’s “Custom Game Options are unacceptable, 343” thread.
People don’t want to see our favorite franchise die, and so people work towards making it better.
I hope I haven’t come off as aggressive, because I’m really not trying to. That’s just what I think a ton of people here are doing.
I don’t even play Halo 4 anymore. Mainly just play Halo 2 PC. And while I prefer Halo 3 over Halo 2, the aliasing in Halo 3 is just so distracting.
> Because a lot of people really care about the franchise, and want to help make it better. By telling 343 what they think is wrong, or could be improved on.

I have not left the franchise, I am however finished with Halo 4 until some massive changes are implemented.
And you know all it would take to get me back? A playlist with forced AR/Magnum starts. And weapons on map. With no ordinance drops. That is all. I’d even be fine with AR/Magnum loadouts with different armor abilities.
> And you know all it would take to get me back? A playlist with forced AR/Magnum starts. And weapons on map. With no ordinance drops. That is all. I’d even be fine with AR/Magnum loadouts with different armor abilities.
Agreed, whole-heartedly… Set weapon starts (AR/Mag, Shot/Mag, etc, etc), with set AAs or no AAs. If I have to accept loadouts, I’ll take Reach style loadouts over H4 pick your uber-combo.
@OP and everyone else trying to compare the sales figures to the population numbers:
It’s been shown that approximately half the people who play games with single and multiplayer modes don’t touch the multiplayer. At all. That’s not because it’s “bad”, but simply because that’s “not what they’re into”. I am one of those people… kind of.
What’s more, you’re not figuring in the fact that not everyone:
has internet or a connection suitable for Xbox live
Xbox Live, either Silver or Gold
(this was also me for many years)
Figuring in those numbers would greatly enhance this conversation, but I doubt anyone has them.
On top of everything else, not everyone who plays Halo 4 (or any game) plays it for multiple hours a day, every day of the week. Sometimes a person can only play a few matches at a time, or only a few days a week. Halo 4 is marketed to the 18-25 year-old demographic, but you can be sure people well above or below that play- and some of them have better things to do most of the time.
Basically, the day-to-day population numbers mean nothing. Like, zero. What we need is an account of how many unique Gamertags log on over the course of a few months, and compare those numbers to previous quarters.
Oh, wait. I forgot. Halo 4’s been out for less than 2 months. Any numbers we get at this point are basically worthless.
In other words, if you don’t want to play Halo 4, then don’t. It’s your right to like or dislike any game for any reason- but don’t try to use bad statistics to prove that you’re “right”.
EDIT - I forgot to say the thing I logged in specifically for this thread:
“OP doesn’t know what ‘entrapment’ is”.
