Halo 4 is doomed...(rant)

TL;DR 343’s kindness and respect for the community will make halo 4 another halo 3.5
343 has an annoying habit of listening to its fanbase, even when they are wrong. Reach TU for example. Look at the numbers in team slayer and super slayer, it tells an interesting story…

With all the so called “competitive” players raging on things we know almost nothing about, (perks, loadout, sprint etc) 343 is likely going to listen. When they do, Halo 4 is doomed to be halo 3.5

People fail to understand that this is a new companies take on a franchise, and that the work bungie has done in the past shouldnt completely influence the way this game plays. This isnt your typical sequal. Its a new take on the series people. With lots of changes. 343 has said there will be playlists for your classic halo feel. Isn’t that enough for you people? ALL of matchmaking is doomed to be halo 3.5
Halo has by far some of the worst players in its community I have EVER seen.
Dont get me wrong. A few of you out there, why i may not agree with your concepts, have genuinely good suggestion and arnt part of the babbling idiots on these forums who “have played halo since CE”. Its funny because most of them were about 10 years old then, incapable of making judgements based on games.
Its funny how those same people who bash on others series such as COD, hate it for the lack of change, yet they dont want change themselves. They claim they want ‘good change’ but what they really want is to relive the glory days in their outdated, and frankly, overrated halo 2/3
For those of you who are curious, I am
.Pro Sprint
.Pro Loadouts (if balanced)
.Pro non esthetically armor bonuses (if balanced)
. AND PRO CHANGE

The halo you guys want is dead. Dead and buried. Im sorry for your loss.
EDIT: STOP BEING STUPID PEOPLE. I WANT HALO, I ALSO WANT THE SERIES TO GO FORWARD, I WANT HALO 4 TO STAY AS IS AND NOT JUST BE HALO 2/3.5
ENOUGH WITH THE INSULTS. BE MATURE

The game is finished, and they are just polishing things, and getting the game ready to be mass produced. At this stage, there probably isn’t going to be any HUGE changes like the Competitive fanbase demands.

The waypoint forums are more or less just a dumping ground for people to whine, gripe and complain about everything. They let their overactive imaginations and fear of a second failure like Reach getting the best of them.

You need to believe like we did in Halo 3
We believed then we droped then we remembered .

John is waking up it is time to believe agian .

And if 343 listens to the casual community, it will turn into Reach 2.

Now what would you rather? Halo 3.5 or Reach 2?

Sorry if i come across as too harsh in this thread. I simply am concerned that halo 4 will TOO much like its predecessors. Halo 4, right now, looks PERFECT. Thats just MY OPINION. No opinion is right or wrong. Halo 4 looks good. Sue me.

I disagree. Look what significant changes they made to reach if a few months. They can easily do this will halo 4. The trailer itself even says whats in the video is subject to change. Why say that if the game is “done”

Screw both of those. I want Halo 4.

I want HALO 4. With the best of ALL halo games, plus 343’s own perception of it.
The Casuals dont want reach. Seriously, where do people like you get your info. the casuals dont like reach. Seriously.

Reach > halo 3
Know why? because my reach experience can easily become halo 3 with the quick change of a playlist or custom game option.

Halo 3 cant do that.

Reach equals the best of both worlds.

I can’t wait to get this game, and when I do, I won’t be here to watch the continuing negativity and rage.

OMG! Halo 4 is going to be soooo new and Refreshing! I CAN’T WAIT, HURRY I’LL GIVE YOU MY MONEY!!!

More then likely that little message was implying that there are some things that may just be placeholders, kinda like how we used to see the Reach AR in Anniversary video’s. Just a placeholder. It could be that there are some elements that will get a visual upgrade, but only slightly.

I don’t think they will be changing the core dynamics of the game right off of the starting line, bro. They will let the game go on, and if there are things that can be changed then they will be changed. Bungie did it for Halo 3 after it was first launched. Each Halo title, with the exception of CE, has had changes made to it in post launch.

I wouldn’t base any logical conclusions about what and how they are going to do things based off of Reach. Reach…is it’s own title and the community has complained about it since day one, which is a shame.

There is a certain plasticity that should be expected with Multiplayer, considering that things change.

Keep an open mind, and try not to post misleading threads claiming that your opinion equals fact.

Erm, no, I remember people LOVING the beta, and for the first 3 months, people all over played and liked reach. There really wasnt much complaining until later on.

lol really? Hannah Montana?

I would happily buy a Halo 3.5.

Very well put I was going to say the same thing.

Look at the number of players on reach and Halo 3 reach has dropped down to 18000 that is horrible. Reach sucks bring back halo 3

Wow, someone else on these forums who is pro sprint and change, it’s almost as rare as a lucid dream. You speak what people in the forums want to say, but are too many people are afraid to say because of the fear of becoming unpopular. I like your -Yoink!-, you’re cool in my book.

Agreed when Halo 4 comes out there will be group raging saying "Halo 4 is terrible I am done with Halo " . I believe though there will be a lot more possitive like "Halo 4 is great,I love my BR ,So what did you guys think of the first mission ?,HALO IS BACK , This is a arrow to the heart of COD, Halo 4 is great just like Halo 2 ,This campaign is the best yet , The graphics are amazing,The population on matchmaking broke 1,000,000 .The list goes on and on . Cant wait till those threads are real and we are playing Halo 4 !

John is waking up it is time to Believe agian .

No sir,

I believe you are incorrect. There was massive complaints during the beta, mostly dealing with the pistol having a shallow clip, the plasma launcher being overpowered, and the accuracy of the DMR, which was later found to be a problem that even Bungie said was a “oops”, and even then it wasn’t an issue with the DMR, but rather an issue with the hit boxes.

I’ve been on Waypoint and B.Net since before the launch of Reach. From practically day one, people complained about things. And this comes with the territory when a large portion of your targeted audience is self entitled kids still living with mommy and daddy. They are usually the squeakiest wheels, though not always. Now couple that with the “competitive” community who are the Squeakiest wheels 100% of the time, and you have a community that does nothing but gripe and complain, and it’s usually about the dumbest things.

So sir, I respectfully disagree with you, and I’ve come to these conclusions not based on Opinion, but by facts and experience.

Thank you.

Quit making up numbers. Looks at reach multiplayer menu
100,000.
18000? lolwut?

I seem to recall all those issues being fixed sir. Why the hate on reach then. One thing ive noticed is XBL was all the rage back in 2007. The ps3 was new, and stale. Right now it is the superior console, and xbox live is losing members, many of those diehard halo 3 fans from back in the day arnt even using the xbox, the rest arnt even gamers anymore.
But thats a theory based on personal opinion and not factual evidence. Reach’s individual elements were the best of the series, but i respect halo 3 for alot of what it did right, that reach failed at. Id like a health combination of the two.
