HALO 4 IS DEAD (for real this time)

I was looking at a couple posts, admiring fellow posters words when I came across an indirect announcement made by the 343 employee “BS ANGEL”

(heres a direct link to that very thread she posted on)

https://forums.halowaypoint.com/yaf_postst223517_Move-Slayer-pro.aspx

here’s what she said, and I quote

> That’s great feedback but the solution you presented is not feasible at this point of the game’s life span (overall, outside of supporting DLC, we aren’t looking to add new permanent playlists at this time). With that in mind, where do you feel this game type fits best?

So, looks like those posts about halo 4 being dead is true, its being cut off after championship after barely a YEAR…

unless someone from 343 can clarify this, I guess ill have to assume that people were right, and halo 4 is dead…

For those of you who dont plan on buying DLC, then I dont really see a reason to stick around…

Ok, that’s nice

She said they didn’t have any plans at this time. That doesn’t mean we’re never going to see another playlist. It just means they don’t have anything to add yet. I haven’t seen many posts recently wanting playlists. It’s mostly just updates to the ones we have. I honestly can’t think of a brand new playlist I want beyond DLC-related ones.

I thought this was understood.

343 isn’t taking 3 years to develop the next Halo game like Bungie did. You’ll see a brand new Halo game announced next year for the Xbox One.

If the next Halo game is even more COD-fied, then it’s over.
Look at how lame COD is, they just appeal to the casuals.

Actually it isn’t their choice, it’s microsofts

Totally, apart from Campaign, SpOps/Firefight, the books, the comics, the TV show, the toys, etc.

your a man of simplicity arent you?
ahem professional mode on

I would appreciate you taking my post seriously, for unlike others, I have direct evidence…

professional mode off

I think you’re misunderstanding completely what that post said and are overreacting to the potential meaning.

I wouldnt say im overreacting, Just reading between the lines…

It may not sound like it, but it said just enough to prove they arent going to support after DLC…

I mean, the New playlists were the bread and butter of most updates…

there’s not much else they can do…

She said they probably won’t be adding any permanent playlists, that doesn’t mean there won’t be more seasonal ones, it doesn’t mean there will be more updates, balancing, or anything for that matter. To me there’s a difference between reading between the lines and looking for negativity where there is none. I could be wrong but Halo 4 is not dead by any stretch of the imagination, not just yet.

Note the choice of words.

“At THIS point”

“No PERMANENT playlists”

“At THIS time”

based on what we’ve seen from most Dev’s regarding this stuff, then yeah, ANYTHING hinting death can mean alot…

I wouldn’t say Halo 4 is “Dead”.

While it’s disappointing that, not even a year after launch, 343 is essentially saying “Minus occasional playlist swapping, there’s going to be no new permanent ones at this time”. This is, assuming , because most workers in the studios are working on the next Halo, leaving an even smaller group to focus on H4 work.

Essentially, this will be like the post-Anniversary launch for Reach. Gametype swaps, maybe some map additions, but nothing extremely major.

You know what I meant.

Well I guess the requests for better Custom Game options is deader than -Yoink-.

> Well I guess the requests for better Custom Game options is deader than Yoink!.

For this game.

Not having plans to add more permanent playlists does not equal no longer supporting the game. We update matchmaking on a biweekly basis, and have plans to continue adding game types (like Legendary BRs, Lockdown and Mini Slayer, all of which are recent additions) and community-created map variants to various rotations. We will also continue freshening up existing playlists and building awesome temporary ones (think Community Forge Island).

You mentioned you’re reading between the lines, but unfortunately the conclusions you’ve drawn are incorrect. Thus, I’m going to lock this thread to prevent the spread of misinformation.
