The only things I can think of that would/will make this game better are (that can be realistically added):
-The addition of Legendary/Classic Slayer (I’m guessing tailored loadouts, no ordinance, no instant respawn; basically pro with radar and probably different loadouts)
-Weapons Update (June 3rd fixes weapon unbalances)
-New Maps (I love the forge Island maps and look forward to them being integrated in the regular playlists)
I’m extremely happy with Halo 4 now, especially with Pro being added. Looking forward to continued improvements/updates!
*Not looking forward however to the negative comments bound to follow. I just wanted to post this. Thanks to those continually working on making this game better, and of course to 343 as a whole for making this game.

I concur.
Wow, and it only took them 7 months! That’s a pretty big achievement!

I’ll be playing halo reach till the new consoles come out and then switch to the ps4, since the new xbox is a joke just like halo 4. Since halo died when 343 took over, there is no reason to even get an xbox anymore.
A Classic Playlist would simply flop, as demonstrated by the Slayer Pro playlist in Halo 4 and the Classic Playlist from Halo: Reach.
I would suggest putting a ‘classic slayer’ variant into Infinity Slayer, lowering the weighting for Slayer Pro a bit, and then renaming the playlist ‘Team Slayer’ to reflect that infinity is not the only option.

Enjoy Killzone mate…

What would you say about a slayer playlist that essentially emulates the team slayer play lists from every previous Halo game? Obviously it changes with each iteration. Halo 3 added duel wielding and equipment. Reach added armor abilities. But they all had radar enabled and map spawns.
Personal ordinance has gotten it a little too far from that imo. I like infinity slayer as an alternate setting.

You have absolutely no way of knowing that. And again, as for the slayer pro playlist, that was at the very beginning of the game and is in no way relevant at this time, as it was pulled before anyone truly had any time to get fed up with Infinity.

We’ll miss you!

> 3. I’d like a “normal” variant of Slayer added to the IS playlist that uses custom loadouts, radar, but has no PODs.
I saw something like this proposed elseware called “Infinity Lite”. Basically it’s Infinity Slayer with a 3-5 second respawn, no POD’s, but with custom loadouts
As for pro, rename it to something, add in radar, and edit the loadouts to include automatics and even preset classes. Remove it from Infinity Slayer and Big Team Infinity Slayer once Legendary Slayer comes, as it’ll fill that niche.
I like the new changes I’ve been hearing about, but I doubt they’ll bring me back for any long period if the maps don’t get any better.
The only thing I could ask 343i to add now, would be… this.

“We” you say? you mean the measly 25-30k players left on the game?

I do have a way of knowing that because I just gave two examples of the failed implementation of almost exactly what you are suggesting.
It’s a good idea, and I wish it would work, but it won’t. Quite frankly, this game already has a few playlists that are good enough for competitive players (Thowdown, Doubles, CTF, Objective).

Exactly! I could not agree any more with this - you took the words right out of my pie hole.
The only other thing so BADLY needed in matchmaking is a vehicle health buff to instill some fun back into this piece of the sandbox. No one drives/rides anymore! I used to love driving the 'hog and the thought never even crosses my mind anymore because of how much of a deathtrap it has become.

Yah, I made that suggestion, though I don’t remember which topic I put it in. I think it would help. Whatever is done, I think a standalone playlist would flop. It needs to be incorporated into Infinity Slayer. I personally don’t think that it would be horribly unpopular if done that way (though Pro has generated lots of angst).

It’s not even about competitiveness. We want a SLAYER playlist without ordinance/custom loadouts/instaspawn and PRO gives us that. Give it radar and we have a genuine Team Slayer gametype which is EXACTLY what the majority wanted when the game launched, not the Infinity madness forced upon us.
I don’t touch throwdown because it’s INSANELY competitive. Same goes for doubles UNLESS I have a very capable friend. Objective? Lol. What does that have, like 80 players?

I’m beginning to fear that all the Halo fans that played the past games and appreciated those games and expected an iteration and not a complete revamp that throws in random ordinance (real competitive /sarcasm), custom loadouts with items that ruin gameplay (camo, plasma grenades), and instaspawn where if you kill someone he can spawn ten feet away immediately and finish you off.
Pro is a breath of fresh air. If team slayer (pro with radar) had actually been in the game in the first place I strongly believe the population wouldn’t be atrocious.

I’m already seeing more friends online playing Halo 4 than I was in November… including a few names I haven’t seen since Halo 3 days.

> Regardless, this is just one set of changes and there are more to come. With the xbox one’s remit (i.e. no backwards compatibility) you can bet that 343 is going to be supporting (and improving) Halo 4 for a good long time to come. It will continue to improve IMHO.
