Halo 4 interview with MLG Pro Naded

Brett “Naded” Leonard is one of eight MLG pros who got to try out the new Halo 4 multiplayer at E3 earlier this month. Examiner recently sat down with Brett to ask him what the game is like.

How does Halo 4 feel compared to other games in the series? Which does it most feel like?

It feels most like a combination between Halo 2 and Halo 3 but also with a little Halo: Reach thrown in. The reason I say that is because the way it played was an updated classic Halo feel, like Halo 2 or Halo 3, and played nothing like Halo: Reach. Although Halo 4 does have armor abilities and sprint (which were new additions to the Halo series from Halo: Reach). Don’t worry because they are a lot better designed this time. Halo 4’s armor abilities and sprint features excelled over how Halo: Reach’s armor abilities and sprint were implemented into the Halo series.

Oh OK…thanks I guess.

Heck ya, I have heard Naded say these things in live stream but it’s nice to see him getting interviewed. My favorite pro for long time I cannot wait to see him dominate in H4. Thanks for the interview link:)

Anyone that teams up with Boss Nasti doesnt deserve my attention.

Sadly enough, this still isn’t enough for the hardcore doubters.

Inb4 I’m waiting on ranking system.

Nice read. Sounds good.

Did you read it? Horribly horribly edited/forced to say it.

If you actually know who Naded is, he’s mental, and teamed up with one of the worse human beings on the planet in Boss Nasti. I want Halo 4 to be great, and think it will be OK, but my lord was that interview overly cheesy.

This is exactly the kind of attitude I wished people have. Instead of being nit-picky with everything and complaining that the game being unbalanced, this guy has realized that while any one addition to the game may be unfair or overpowered, in conjunction with all the other changes it all makes sense and has its place. This game may be different than previous halo’s but look at how many times he uses the word “fun” when describing features of the game. Isn’t that what it’s all about, having fun?

> Anyone that teams up with Boss Nasti doesnt deserve my attention.

He probably just wants to make sure he’s invited back to play halo 5 and 6 before everyone else. It’s obvious that this will be the least competitive out of all the halo’s.

Don’t embarrass yourself, just because 1 person says he likes it doesn’t mean the rest of them think it’s all good. In fact they go so far as to call it CoD.

IM sure if he wanted to be invited before others he would pay money. remember 343 approached MLG not the other way around. stating that it will be the least competitive without saying how just shows you hopped on the hate bandwagon. and even if halo 4 turns out to be bad. it can’t be any less competitive then reach was. it has faster movement making strafing possible. that alone makes it more competitive then reach.

That is true, and the aiming looks like theres less aim assist/smaller hitboxes so hopefully the 5sk/6sk are just not automatic at a high level without having to resort to a random spread/bloom mechanic.

I dont think we will ever get a godly competitive game like H1 or H2 ever again there is too much BS AA’s and perks in Halo now, but maybe we will get a H3 where we dont have to tweak it much for it to be optimal for competitive play. There NEEDS to be a skill-based ranking system and spectator mode though for it to be viable for MLG. Halo is currently the most expensive/hardest game to run and is restricted tourney wise by the absence of a LAN spectator mode. Blackops 2 and GoW 3 have spectator mode and Halo doesnt that is just a joke.

Counter strike 1.6 has spectator mode, and thats older than most people here. They didnt use the bandwidth excuse

That pretty much sums up the difference between Console and PC developers.

This guy gets it.

Ya, but naded is like mentally handicapped.

Like not even joking. Im pretty sure he is for real.

Basically, even if he is mentally handicapped, that does not make what he is saying untrue.

Who is they? The only thing they bring up about as cod is personal ordnance drop. Walshy likes (despite its problems) the game and best man. I’m sure other peeps. This other guy, not mlg, play tested gave his in depth impressions. He liked. Oh, but I know many others will fight to till the end to not like this game. I understand Reach has you in pain, but this isn’t reach anymore.

> The new weapons like the Scattershot, the Rocket Pistol, and the Sticky (Plasma Grenade) Detonator all were really fun to use. I can’t wait to see all of the weapons that will be usable once the game launches.

I didn’t see this o.0
