Halo 4 Inheritor rank strike again

I was reading in Halo wikia, and in halo 4 ranks videos i see the Inheritor rank come back again.
Why 343 hate my i only Brigadier Grade 3

And again Inheritor rank again Holy S&$%/%¡

The ranks are SR1-SR50

Inheritor was just a place holder.

You take advice from an outdated site that anyone can modify?

As long as SR50 doesn’t take an ungodly amount of playing as Inheritor did.

> As long as SR50 doesn’t take an ungodly amount of playing as Inheritor did.

I doubt it will, I can imagine not a lot of people wanting to go through 80 extra specialization ranks after reaching it.

What doe’s SR1-SR50 mean?

Who knows. “Spartan Rank” would be my guess.

Like “Spartan Rank 1” and so on.

I can see those being like Skill Levels…but honestly I want the names EG:

Private

Corporal

Sergeant/Warrant Officer

LT

Captain

Major…

etc…

I thought I saw those in postgame footage. Unless it was just placeholder from Reach.

Evidence??? I missed it… O.O

Yeah and, that videos from way back …

Getting to Inheritor wasn’t too bad. I made it last year July (2011). Many of my friends have reached Inheritor with several more who will before Halo 4 comes out.

Yeah, it takes a lot of gameplay, but then again, I rarely play anything but Halo.

I don’t find half a year much…

You must have put in an ungodly amount of hours if you got to Inheritor legitimately within 6 months. 6 months = 182.621 days. 20,000,000/182.621 = 109516.43.
That’s averaging over 100,000 credits a day. Even for a year, you’d have to average over 50,000 a day.

For the average gamer, this is way too much.

Those ranks were placeholder names for the beta build, which was incomplete.

The “real” Halo 4 ranks is going to be a leveled system (progression based). 1-50 levels (don’t mistake this as Halo 3 ranked 1-50). If you see others saying SR50 or whatever, that just means Spartan Rank, level insert number here.

I sure as hell hope it doesn’t take a god awful amount of time to reach. I don’t want to have to resort to custom challenges and forced to stay up all night for a shiny new level. Grinding in Pokemon is one thing, grinding in Halo? Not so much.

Well it used to be harder, when the credit cap was only 120k and you didn’t get that many credits as now. I did hit the credit cap almost every day. But now it’s just way easier, a year ago you’d get like 200/300 credits for a daily challenge and now you get 2.000/5.000 credits. You also only used to get maybe 2.000 credits for the weekly, now you can even get 30.000 from it. You also get a huge Jackpot every weekend. And if I play a game now, I always get at least 10.000 credits. It’s just so much… And then there are things like Arcadefight and Custom Challenges that give you a huge amount of credits.

I like it that a rank takes long, it shows your dedication to the game. Or do you rather want it like other games, where you can prestige or rank up every day?

No, I’d rather there be a system that allows you to progress to a rank/level that accurately reflects your skill and doesn’t allow you to move past that point unless you become considerably better.
Reach’s system only really showed how much you played the game. Rank means nothing if anyone can reach the top - every time I play I see Inheritors that deserve their rank, but others that get trashed by Brigadiers.

Agreed, Rank in Reach is meaningless, other than showing the time you’ve played. If you’re inheritor it just shows you have no life, I play a lot and I’m only that moon rank, if you’re inheritor, wow you need to get out more.

However, if you’re going to have unlockables (specializations in this case) based on Rank, then IMO Rank cannot be based on skill. It would be unfair to prevent someone from getting a specialization just because they can’t get a Halo 3 50 or equivalent. I’d be pretty pissed if the players that are better than me (which is probably most) have even more advantage over me because I’m not good enough to get a specialization.

I see what you mean, it would be grossly unfair.
IMO the ideal system would be the two working in tandem - you rank up to get your goodies but underneath it would be a system that calculates your skill (similar to BPR rating but much more complex).
I’m not bothered about having a number next to my name, only that I get fairly matched with people of the same or very similar skill.

IMO Brigadier was easy to get in Reach. Maybe took a month or a few weeks. If people are going to be able to get to SR-50 multiple times, it won’t be as difficult as inheritor.
