By microsoft, to trick people into installing Internet Explorer on their xbox.
Selecting it on the home screen prompts you to update, but doesn’t say what, then installs IE and directs you to the waypoint website.
What a load of garbage, screw you -Yoink!-.
Actually IE for Xbox, while sharing the same name as the PC counterpart, is entirely unique code, and is a nice browser.

How does not taking part prevent me from having already installed software I don’t want or need under false pretenses?

Did you read the terms and conditions? If not, shame on you and you deserve it. If you did and they never once mention that you would need to download a browser, someone will slap their hands.
Or…just uninstall it like I do when demos get put on my xbox. Would have taken less time than crying to the forums

There were no terms and conditions. Like I said, selecting the Infinity Challenge from the home screen prompts you to update with absolutely no information on what it is actually doing.
I will uninstall it. And I will complain whenever a company takes advantage of me. Deal.
