Halo 4 Infection is Garbage

halo 4 features the worst version of Infrction yet. The Flood have hardly any capabilities and are faced against a large team of stacked Spartans. I mean really, they wield shotguns, railguns, you name it…so OP.

The flood generally have very good armor abilities - don’t forget to use them. Its also very important to rush survivors at the beginning because they will try to get to a more fortified position than their initial spawn.

I think he is talking about the Flood Gametype ‘Last Stand’ and probably played it on Constellation based upon his description of weapons used (Railgun strongly hints at that). In Last Stand, flood do not have armor abilities, so it kind of is a bit unbalanced, but the idea of Last Stand is for the flood to use teamwork to trick and/or overrun the Spartans. Sadly, not many players get that when playing Last Stand, so they just run straight in to be mowed down, rinse and repeat instead of coming at the Spartans in a large group as Flood, or using distractions to distract them while other flood take them out. Also, in Last Stand, it take two flood hits, not one to take out a Spartan with full shields.

Last Stand was meant to be more team oriented for the flood and unless you’re in a party with friends, it sucks being the Flood in that gametype, which is what the Original Poster is trying to get at. So to avoid this, don’t immediately cast your vote when choosing what the next match will hold. If Last Stand is chosen by the majority, back out and restart your Flood Search. Also, play with a large group of friends so you can either play Last Stand the way it was meant to be played or so you and your friends will always have the majority of the vote and hence not having Last Stand ever be the chosen gametype when playing Flood.

Now that you mention it, the game type was Last Stand. It’s insanely stupid that the Flood are deprived of abilities and take two hits to kill a single Spartan. Who the heck came up with this at 343? They deserve to be fired.

Well, yes. You have a point there. Last Stand have some unfair effects there that many so called pro gamers use for their advantages. Because many of these people always get to the power weapons before anyone else. even if you’re about to reach a power weapon, they always get it.
But Halo 4’s normal Flood gametype is better because of the abilities.
BUT…we gotta point out that any infection game mode on Halo 4’s better than Reach. Because on Reach an infected could die of one single shot on the head which I found unnecessary. And many people camp on Reach and therefor they easily kill the infected with headshots.

They only added a flood armor to the spartans…

Isn’t it called Flood instead of Infection.

I agree Reach had much better infection

I think it is fine the way it is.

Last Stand is always been fine for me even when I am flood because when I am flood I can typically get a kill or two right off the bat.

Its okay at best.

The Flood are dope. Infection on H4 is fun.

Reach has the best Infection by far.

No it’s not.

halo 4’s infection is epic! needs to be on halo 5 too!

Yep, I’d love that too.

Isn’t that the point? The more skilled and prepared Spartans have to do everything in their power to survive while the horde of less skilled flood have to take them out one by one? This thread is dumb

The flood gametype sure is the worst version of infection, that’s for sure

That’s why I only play Halo Reach Living Dead. The lunge capability is all messed up for H4, you can lunge from such a far distance. And the boost is so frustrating in normal flood. Last Stand is alright, you just have to be a smart zombie and not just run straight at them. If you hide behind a corner, or sneak up behind the survivors you can kill them pretty easily. I hope 343i makes the Halo 5 Infection playlist more like Halo Reach.

Originally the Halo 4 flood was decent. When it was just shotguns, but then they screwed everything up by making it what it is now.

Still better than H5 infection though.
