Halo 4 in general

I don’t understand why 343 chooses to change certain things. Why not simply add to them? Isn’t it obvious they’ll only increase the chance of discontentment among Halo fans? Actually, do they even care? I’ve never seen the Halo community in such turmoil. We’ll soon regress to the state of our fellow shooter (games) communities. Fitting for the changes being made. I personally like a lot of things 343 is doing with Halo 4. Many other things just make me wonder who’s in charge at 343 . . .

Not one of these threads again…

> I’ve never seen the Halo community in such turmoil.

The Halo community is ALWAYS in turmoil.

If it isn’t, “They don’t change anything!” It’s, “They change too much!”
Also, don’t know where you’ve been but the Halo community is always like this before a new Halo comes out. Hell, it’s always like this.

trust me i am a massive halo fan, but even i think that some things in halo are getting a bit old and boring, i think its time for change and i think 343 are doing it beautifully, and if halo stayed the same, then it would be like CoD, never changing and boring

quit being mellow dramatic, it looks great and from what most of the people who have actually played the game say its great so im gonna probably assume thats true until i play the game for myself and draw my own conclusion. there is a huge difference between observation and actual experiance.

This is true.

I remember the anticipation for Reach’s release, I certainly cannot look at Halo 4 the same. And why is everyone getting so emotional? Chill out. Also, the Halo community is always in turmoil, you say? I can’t disagree. However, the solution to such disputes can never lie in radical changes. Compromise is key. I just don’t see very such of that.

im sorry but what was the main point off your topic again?

Why not just re-read?? haha. The changes being made in H4

Would you rather people complain that it doesn’t change enough? Besides, this is a new developer, their first game. First Halo since Bungie left. 343i needs to do stuff that sets them apart, makes them unique, makes it look like they aren’t capable of making their own game by just copying and keeping all of Bungie’s stuff. Its good to see that they’re taking liberties.

There is only so much you can add without changing.

Every action creates discontentment. Where have you been? Every single change is bashed at least once. Yiu can’t please everyone, especially the Halo community.

You haven’t? Its always like this before a release. Halo 2 was bashed just as much. Halo 4 is just a new developer, so the bashing can be more in depth and noticed. Nothing really different here.

Of course. Its how the gaming market works. Games take ideas and concepts all the time. CE wasn’t completely unique in its ideas, yet played unique. Why do people think Halo 4 can’t do the same. Similar concepts==same feel. Halo 4 feels like Halo. Of course 343i is evolving with the gaming market, Halo would be left behind if it didn’t.

Quote for truth.

No matter how they try they will always make people unhappy. So better they do something like it should than do nothing or make compromise that only make the game worse because people would still be unhappy.

You can’t make many compromises and evolve the series in the direction it needs to go.

You can’t please everyone, and that is especially true if the market is changing, and you must change with it.

The market has changed a lot since Halo 3. Halo 4 needs to evolve with the market, but too many people are still stuck worshipping the original trilogy. You can’t make effective compromises when no one is willing to compromise.

That’s just it. I recognize change. I respect it. But this doesn’t feel like Halo. Change is never better made in favor of a certain subject. There are no efforts to ease discontentment, only to switch its source. Everyone keeps posting and telling me things I already know. I’m not asking for perfection in Halo 4. I’m asking for Halo.

It’s just pointless to post these threads, it’ll be locked eventually.

“Do they even care?” …Of course they do, they’re the biggest Halo fans on the planet, 343i is made of Halo fans and some old Bungie employees.

Your words contradict each other. They care, and yet are willing to shun the words of the Halo fans? And you say they are the biggest Halo fans on the planet. Are they creating the game for themselves, or for us?

Funny, because pretty much everyone who played the game says it feels like Halo.

343i have said many times that the things you have been seeing are from an early build where things are still being tweaked and altered. Its not 343i’s fault if the community freaks out or jumps to conclusions. Only the community can stop the discontentment. Some just don’t accept what 343i says.

Halo 4 is Halo. A new Halo, but Halo nonetheless. Halo is on a new course, evolving with the market. If people can’t try to evolve with it, that is their issue. 343i are doing what Halo needs. Giving it some fresh air, guiding it back to the top. If you expected Halo 4, a new game by a new deveoper starting a new trilogy, to feel exactly the same or very similar to the original trilogy in this market… you misguided yourself.

So I’m assuming you never heard of Halo2sucks.com?

> I’ve never seen the Halo community in such turmoil.

Damn, you should have been on Bungie’s Reach forums back in 2010

I agree with the fact that they’re changing things for the sake of change. Like why change the medals or multiplayer announcer? I think it’s rather silly.
