Perhaps i am the only one but i am starting to have doubts in regards to halo being out this year.
No new footage?!: we are almost done with the first mont of 2012 without any information about halo 4. I thought we would have something by now.
The COD effect.: Ever since call of duty modern warfare launched, not only did the number of halo players go down but any video game launching alongside it is not going to make the money it would have. Halo seems to have gone down significantly in popularity and also will be launching 4 by a new developer. So what games could hurt halos profitability this year you ask? Well obviously treyarch will have a terrible new COD that everyone will buy but heres more: Resident evil has 2 games coming out- we will likley see assasins creed 3 this year- Borderlands 2- GTAV- Max Payne- Mass effect 3- and possibly even new fallout or halflife.
Am i the only one who sees this?! Im routing for you halo but if your not gonna make it this year let me know soon so i can spend my 150 bucks.

I don’t agree. Halo 4 will be revealed at the Tokyo Toy Fair next week on Tuesday, the 24th of January.
Numbers do not prove anything about a game. So what if COD is making more sales. It’s what people want right now, but its a phase. Halo does not need COD like gimmicks to appeal to the audience. Halo just needs to be fun.

I was really hoping for VGA then 1-17-12 but still nothing

Numbers do have a very large impact on gaming… If halo 4 does terrible (which im not saying that it will) you will not see a halo 5
I actually think you have a point, think about it. At this point for Reach and 3 there was more out about the game, and with a new developer you know they are being EXTRA careful about everything.
It was only a teaser when it stated Holiday 2012, and nothing since. I would hate it, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it were pushed back (idk how long though). If a new Xbox is coming out the year after that could greatly impact how they go about this also.

As much as i dont want to trough down 650 dollars for the new xbox and a legendary edition of the game i would be dissapointed if 720 came out without a halo launch title

If halo 5 was to come out within a year of halo 4 i would definatly be dissapointed rushing games doesnt equal a win for anyone- ask treyarch

I’m sure the Xbox “720” will be released in 2014 or 2015; the year I expect Halo 5 to be released. “Worst” case scenario: the Xbox “720” is released in 2013… along with Halo 2 Anniversary. That would be a suitable Halo launch title.

Yes i would be fine with that but i dont see the “720” being out any later than 2013.
Only CoD will actually compete with Halo. AC3, RE6, and Borderlands 2 are all different genres and won’t attract the same crowd, not to mention most would buy Halo before any of those 3.
ME 3 would be the only other REAL competition, and it comes out at the beginning of the year anyway.

Halo 3 was officially announced via a cinematic trailer rendered in real-time, shown at Microsoft’s press conference at E3 2006 on May 9. (The E3 before the year it came out…same as Halo 4 teaser, year before it comes out)
Advertising company McCann Erickson created a second trailer that was aired only once on December 4, 2006.
The final trailer, shown during E3 2007 on July 11, consisted of actual campaign cinematics and gameplay.

That may have been true a few years ago but not now. i would bet that a lagre percent of the halo 4 purchasers will also buy one of those games
