Halo 4 image copyright?

Hi,

This is mainly directed at someone who works at 343 or microsoft, but anyone who has any knowledge of this please don’t hesitate.

Basically I’ve created an android app that displays a users service record, and recently it’s been taken down due to a copyright claim, which im guessing is by 343. Im just curious what prompted this, are the images of spartan characters copyrighted? I’d like to know so I can remove the offending items and get my app back up again.

Kind regards,
Jack

PM BS angel.

I know that Google likes to mess with a lot of -Yoink-. My first (and only at this point) Halo 4 gameplay vid had detected a copyright issue because I used to Halo 2 Soundtrack songs, and I disputed it simply by saying “Microsoft Game Content Usage Policy”. I’ve yet to receive any further complaining from them.

Where you charging for this app, or letting people download it for free? I know that under this policy, your not allowed to make money without express written permission from Microsoft.

I’ll just go ahead and give you the link to Microsoft’s official webpage detailing this info. Click Here

I’ve pm’d bs angel but she’s yet to get back to me. Kind of ironic because I remember asking her about a halo 4 api and she wished me good luck with my app!

Crixxix, nice link, I don’t charge for my app, but I’ve got a little admob advert at the bottom, which reading that looks like it breaks those rules.

I’ll remove the ads and see if google will let me re-upload it.

That would probably be the culprit, earning anything from something that has anything to do with Halo is a serious no-no. :I
