Halo 4 Ideas: Assault Rifle

I’ll say it now- bring back the 60 clip. It should take around half a clip too kill somebody with it, and max ammo should be 320(?). If that’s too OP, than make it 3/4 a clip. Make it so that if it is used as burst fire it becomes more powerful each burst. Thoughts?

I agree that it needs a larger clip. The problem is this:

If one clip (or slightly less than one clip) is all that is necessary to kill an enemy, then that clip will work fine in a game of one versus one. However, when other players are thrown into the mix (and most Halo game types are team-based), a player should be able to kill one enemy and pepper other surrounding enemies with enough bullets to keep them at bay, and/or escape from the area after making the kill.

This. Reach’s AR was unable to protect yourself from getting double, or triple, teamed. Especially when your “team-mates” don’t understand the concept of team-work.

So… something like this?

Idea based off of yours: include the LMG, but make it the “new turret”. It shoots at the same rate and does the same amount of damage, but a real turret is like Halo 2’s- it can’t be pulled off. The AR would be like Halo: CE’s but not as powerful, but strong enough so that you don’t have to do the two-hit trick.
