I have an idea for Halo 4 that would be amazing and have the Halo community get involved with Halo 4. The idea is a helmet creation contest. 343 holds a contest where you have to design a helmet for Halo 4. We vote, and vote and vote for the best ones. The top 3 with most votes gets turned into actual playable helmets for Halo 4. The voting lasts, say, a month or two. Or whatever 343 finds best fit. I think that would be SO EPIC. Wouldn’t it? What do you think?
It’d be interesting to see what the community can come up with.
Possibly…
The main issue comes in when you look how late into development it is. It would have to be a reskin as the armour now has an effect on your character. This means development time would have to be taken out to add effects, or make it less unique by making it a reskin of another helmet to save time. Programmers don’t have a lot of free time because they are trying to dig their way through mountains of coding to find glitches and bugs, so they would have to make it easier in terms of work and produce a better game.
I also think it should be top 10 (more variety and is a bit fairer). This would be a much better idea for Halo 5 when they have a lot of time to work on the next instalment.
I love how 343 went with Optimus Prime helmets for the new Spartan IVs.

I assure you, this far into the development cycle the Art Department has NOTHING to do. They could easily make re-skins and the like.

I never said the art designers had nothing to do. That’s why I said it would have to be a re-skin. Art designers and programmers are completely different in big development companies.
This idea popped up a few months ago, and i really supported it. Though that was before what we knew now about MP.
Either way i messaged BSangel about it and she replied saying that it is an interesting idea, but something that the development team has really considered. She didn’t say no, but it wasn’t a yes either.
We’ll just have to wait and see
