Black ops 2 has sold 14.8 million in two weeks…
Think Halo 4 is going to beat Halo 3’s 11.5 million copies sold?

No disrespect, but Call of Duty IS a multi-platform game. So saying that it sold more than Halo 4 isn’t a 100% correct statement…
Halo 3 was a masterpiece.

So? It’s still sold more and in that space of time…it’s even sold more on xbox than Halo 4 has.
My question was if you thought Halo 4 is going to beat Halo 3’s 11 million. The BO2 sales figure is there so people can use it to help them come to a decisions because back when Halo 3 was out COD sold a lot less then Halo 3.
A lot of Halo fans went to COD after Reach came out and I know this because most of my mates now play COD instead of the game they used to love and play all the time. It’s sad really
> Halo 3 was a masterpiece.
this is true imo
Doesn’t matter how little it sells compared to BO, I could never bring myself to go back to playing any CoD.
When I play Halo I feel a sense of community. Not in Call of Duty. Just a bunch of spoiled 12 year olds, or teenage potheads who think they’re bad apples because they play zombies.
Yeah…No thanks.
What does Call of Duty: Black Ops II have anything to do with Halo 4 and it’s comparison to Halo 3’s sales?
Nothing.
That being said, could Halo 4 beat Halo 3’s sales? Maybe.
Don’t misquote the numbers OP!
We only have salesfigures of the first 2 weeks of it being on sale.
3.8 million first week, 750.000 in the second week (not suprisingly seeing as BO2 came out).
So its not 4 vs 2 weeks, but 2 vs 2. Besides: multiplatform vs exclusive?
In the end though: why care about sales? Do they impact your gaming experience? Nope.

Why NOT care about sales?
Figures obviously tell a honest story.
just to give the actuall numbers on just the xbox platform
blops 2 had 6.21 m in the first week. halo 4 had 4.55 m. thats a differance of about 1.7 m. it may not have outsold blops 2 on the xbox but it still did really well for a console exclusive. as for it outselling halo 3,can’t say for sure but its well on track to eclipse it
If ANYTHING I think the only Reason Halo has been selling less (Both 4, and Reach) is because of Halo 3. Think about it; would you buy subsequent games if the previous one flopped? Halo 3 did well because of Halo 2. and 2 because of CE, ect.
But mid Halo 3 the population started to decline quickly, this may be just because more choices of games where introduced around this point.
My point being; You can’t blame the lack of sales on the current title because why would you not buy something if you didn’t have some point of reference to it? [H2,3,Reach]
Plus BLOPS2 is Multi-Platform.

No they don’t.
Sales figures tell s–t about quality for instance.
If so: Wii Sports is one of the best games ever made. Twilight is one of the best movie series ever made, and the Big Mac is the best food ever produced.
Sales tell nothing but popularity.
And we already know CoD is massively popular amongst mainstream gamers and has taken that spot from Halo ever since 2007.
They do not impact your experience.
They do not make Halo a “lesser” game.
They don’t do anything.
Take Alan Wake for instance. I’d argue it is easily one of the best games of this generation…didn’t sell more than 2 million.
Or how about GTA? Never again will that series sell as well as San Andreas did…all that shows is that the series isn’t as popular as it was at its peak. Nothing more than that.
Nothing that really should be important to you as a player.
> In the end though: why care about sales? Do they impact your gaming experience? Nope.
They do actually impact my gaming experience. When CoD murders Halo in sales it makes 343i rip-off even more of CoD’s terrible gameplay. Halo 5 is going to be even more like CoD, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if Halo 5 has Spartan Zombies.

are you trying to immply that blops 2 is better, or just that it sells better. saying it sells better is true due to the fact that it appeals to casuals more than halo does. saying that its better? well i’ll let you compare metacritic scores and see what you come up with

this guy is probably right, sadly.
wish the COD fad would just die. It’s like a cancer that spreads to all the good games.
the people who like ordnance drops, custom loadouts & all the unbalanced AA. They’re the ones bringing this game down.

No.
The reason San Andreas is the most popular is because people had the most fun on it, and subsequent games are inferior.
Similar to how Reach and Halo 4 are inferior to Halo 3, which is the reason they are selling less.

reach i can understand but 4? ninja please. campaine was much better than 3’s walk around in circles mode. 3 had no spartan ops or firefight, forge is much better in 4 than 3. the only thing about 3 thats better is the multyplayer with ranks. once halo 4 has ranks with ranked playlists and claasic gametypes, halo 4 multy> halo 3 multy. but overall, halo 4> halo 3
TC is a troll, the game hits its 3 week mark tomorrow, yet he claims to have sales info for the first 4 weeks.
Nice try TC, go back to whatever BO2 board you came from.

And you think that if 343 appeals to their hardcore fans and releases Halo 3.1 that they’re going to generate sales in the same stratosphere as BO2?
Wow…so much misinformation in your post, op.
If you want to compare the right way, talk about xbox 360 version b ops 2 sales. And that 4.5mil number- that’s the second week total sales of halo 4 from vgchartz.
Quit twisting numbers to make yourself sound more right than you are.
