Halo 4 has quicktime events *Confirmed*

Hey guys,

I have read the german GamePro Magazine, they were invited by 343i to catch a glimpse of Halo 4 and they are describing a quicktime event as Chief is nearly falling of a ladder and you have to press the button quickly to not fall down.

There was an other scene in the First Look ViDoc, where Master Chief is opening a heavy door with his hands, so that could be one of those events, too.

Source: German GamePro Magazine

Original: “Einmal rutscht die Hand vom Chief ab, er taumelt und kann sich nur durch wiederholtes Knöpfchendrücken wieder festkrallen – Quick Time Events gibt’s also auch in Halo 4.”

Google translator: “Once the hand from slipping by the Chief, he stumbles and can cling only by repeated button-pressing again - Quicktime events are so well in Halo’s fourth”

Can somebody correct this into a correct english sentence? :stuck_out_tongue:
My english grammar is bad.^^

UPDATE: Frank clarifies the Quick Time Events. NeoGAF

What do you think of this? Discuss.

Would be a pretty sweet way to bring in hand to hand combat and energy swordfights.

I do not like the integrated cut scene activities like in MW3.

Hmmmm, interesting. It could work, but it can get repetitive.

Noooo… Our actions should not be scripted. The most fun gameplay is found in actual standard gameplay skill. Quicktime events are just cheesy…

I personally like the idea…but I can tell its gonna be hacked and slashed at by many because it’s unoriginal. CoD did it ok. BF did horrible at it. RE5 did it ok

The best games ive played with it are naruto ninja storm 2, dbz ultimate tenkaichi and god of war

I actually like this idea, but only to a point. Cause if they use it too much, then it just becomes repetitive and annoying. So I hope they only incorporated it a few times into the game and not every other cut scene or something like that.

As long as they’re not overused like in Battlefield and Call of Duty, then it’s fine. I think it’s nice to have something like this in Halo.

Meh, I don’t care for these kind of things very much. I don’t mind them though as long as they aren’t constant.

I hate it.

DON’T FIX WHAT ISN’T BROKEN.

It was perfect in Halo 3, leave it at that.
None of this First person viewing and Pressing ‘X’ a billion times to open a damn door.

Don’t fix what isn’t broken, expand though; yes.

What? Like, God of War?

I love it. The thing I hated about Halo was whenever I played it I never really felt “part” of the experience. With these new quick time events, it really makes the game feel more cinematic and immersive. I’m glad their continuing the addition of first person custscenes. Those were really good back in ODST and Reach.

NO QTE!

Good Lord…I hope its sparse.

Sparser than sparse.

CUT SCENES SHOULD BE ABOUT PEE BREAKS, AND MILK AND COOKIES, NOTHING MORE…

You don’t want too many quicktime events, but it is fun to have some “interactive cutscenes” in a game. 343i said they wanted the player to feel more like a superhuman, so they’re doing just that.

I liked the 1st person cutscenes.

I always liked quicktime events, as long as there aren’t too many.

Seriously, i am in the kitchen grabbing a beer and some nuking a soft pretzel only to have a game changing decision or button mashing event that mass effects the ending, poops to that.

No you take away part of what defines a Halo Campaign by doing that.
