Halo 4 Guns Down Still banned?

Why can’t any halo developer get this one thing done right? Bungie refused to let us make online machinima, and now 343?

What?

> What?

Putting the guns down, or ‘cease fire’ in Halo was a staple in machinima for being less agressive. Not everybody has the resources to make a machinima at home without the aid of friends over xbox live, yet apparently any developer of Halo ignores that fact and decides to keep xbox live from havign Cease Fire. Any glitch can be patched- it is a simple animation, not an infinite ammo cheat.

I’m pretty sure you lower your weapon online too now.

It has been unofficially announced by Machinima that the lowering weapon position is not allowed on xbox live but you can do it offline. The reason why because 343i doesn’t want any button glitches like the quad shot or bxr returning which was done in the halo 2 days.

I’d doubt they would remove the feature however it’s not impossible that they’ve change the way you access it!

They’ve been differently activated in previous installments!

Also seen here in a RvB save the date they seem to be “down”

Apparently, someone asked about it at the RTX panel, and apparently, they got a yes: weapon lowering is possible in Multiplayer.

HOWEVER, I can’t find a video of someone asking the question and receiving an answer, so I can’t verify this for you guys. Sorry. :frowning:

No, im sure its online too, unless like many things, they changed their minds. i guess machinima just expected it to be on local only.

My argument against their argument for that is how can BXR when you have to do a 3-4 second button combo to pull of the drop? I get that with some there is a one button that can raise it and lower it, but just leave that out.

How about this check this link out about lowering weapons in halo 4 for more information so people don’t have to read. Halo 4 lowering weapon

But in the age where glitches can be patched, especially as coding has evolved, I don’t see why 343 can’t just allow the animation to be in CUSTOM games, aka, NOT MATCHMAKING. That way, BXR and Quad Shot would not matter.

Edit: Either that or allow the glitch to exist for a short time, patch it and ban the practitioners of the exploit?

I can’t find any evidence to suggest that alert carrying contributed to Halo 2 button glitches, nor can I find any official Bungie or 343i source stating that it was removed from online gameplay to avoid button combos.

Button combos shouldn’t stop alert carrying from being included in online play. If it doesn’t appear as a feature, it’s for a different reason. :\

With that in mind, I think I know why.

Rooster Teeth secretly hates the idea of machinima being made to compete with their work and have persuaded Bungie and 343i to ensure no competitors can do it without serious difficulty. (Digital ph33r did it all on his own and rivals them, I know that), but they don’t want alot more competition.

I believe I heard 343i has announced it IS in, but I don’t think we’ll know until it’s been tested. Machinima may have unofficially announced it, but I want to wait until I try for myself, or 343i says otherwise.

It’s not that I don’t think Machinima speaks the truth, I just would rather have someone from 343i or myself be the judge of that.

I fail to see how enabling the cosmetic lowering of a weapon online would allow button exploits. That is just a cop-out.

There is no legitimate reason to not allow it online.

offline only, sorry

Well I’m quite sure you can find some evidence on the live-streams from other game reviewers such as IGN and Machinima. Like I said previously according to the video that machinima posted about lowering weapons in halo 4, they say it has to be done offline this is assuming that they checked online and or received information from 343i regarding it.

I am still certain it’s online, we’ll see in 3 days.
