So I got a little grunt to go along with my Master Chief from the Halo 4 McFarlane series, and I was wondering … is that grunt huge or do they just seem smaller on the screen?
When playing Halo 4 and performing an assassination, they look quite large, and it is said that they’re roughly 5’7" (head to foot, not the tank) which is about right as the action figure’s head comes up to Chief’s chest …
But the grunt’s forearms are larger than Master Chief’s thighs … I mean Chief could easily ride this grunt around if he wanted to.
Has anyone else noticed this? Or are the grunts really that big?
I think they are to scale. I have the Didact figure and he absolutely dwarfs Chief, so I think the Grunt is proportional.
I think so. McFarlane is always great with proportions. And I think the large size may be because it doesn’t kneel as well as the Grunts in-game.
They grow 'em big anymore!
But the Grunts have such terrible posture in-game (sit up straight, pipsqueak!), and the toy makes them a bit more upright. But yeah, I’d say they’re proportional.
This was discussed in another thread a while ago. I believe the consensus was that a grunt could easily dispatch a human in hand to hand combat if it felt like it, and that facing one in combat would be quite terrifying if you didn’t happen to be a Spartan.
Yes it is to scale.
People thought the Halo 3 Hunter was out of scale too. As someone said before it has to do with posture. Perspective also plays a role. It seems as if everything is smaller in first person.
