Halo 4: Grenade INDICATOR???

Hey,

Okay, I was watching some Halo 4 gameplay videos, and I noticed that when someone was next to a grenade, a grenade indicator would pop up. (Sorry, I can not find the video) Please tell me if this is wrong, because I feel that a grenade indicator totally goes against Halo’s golden triangle: shoot, melee, grenades. Plus, the surprise grenades from around the corners wouldn’t be that effective anymore.

I’m not 100% sure if there is an indicator, but it seems like it, as I have searched it up after watching the videos, and results showed people asking to turn off the indicator. Please, 343i, I really would like it if you removed/avoided using a grenade indicator from Halo 4.

I’m not sure about others, but it would really take away from the Golden Triangle experience.

It is confirmed in and i like it, it was always frustrating to get blown up by “invisible grenades”, not only, i would also like a Grenade “type” indicator, if a player shoot a Plasma the Grenade indicator should have a Plasma shape.

Yup. Look at this pic from E3 video : http://i.imgur.com/X8TLz.jpg

Well, considering how fast frags go off after being thrown, a grenade indicator wouldn’t change much of their effect. It also will help keep stickies in check, otherwise they would be dominant over frags.

At least now I’ll see visually if a grenade is being thrown at me rather then having the rely on hearing the small “whoosh” sound effect. It doesn’t quite work well on Reach where grenades are being thrown almost everywhere :stuck_out_tongue:

Yes, sadly. There will be grenade indicators and hit markers in Halo 4. :frowning:

I think hitmarkers would be useful in Halo, but grenade indicator, god NO!

yes. now I can dodge grenades more effectively and so need to be less aware of my surroundings.

Grenade fuse time and tactics essentially make it pointless.

This is a great idea. Why do people assume that Spartan Four’s don’t have advanced armor. they should have this stuff for obvious reasons… This is why it doesn’t work with COD but it fits perfect with Halo.

I’m tired of getting killed by people who can’t use a gun. Especially in Reach with the little pocket nukes. Well, Halo is a First person SHOOTER, not a First Person Grenader. 343i changed a lot with Halo 4 and even Reach broke these rules (Armor Lock). So, why exactly is a grenade inidcator a problem now?

I guess I really don’t mind the indicator, even though I really don’t like it. What I really hope doesn’t happen is hit markers for grenade hits. This will ruin having to grenade a corner and turning blindly. People will just use grenades as feelers, which is not how they’re supposed to be used. I know I’d abuse the crap out of this mechanic if it’s in.

Yes, I understand your point, but still, grenades are an essential item in Halo. I mean, COD is FPS, but it still has grenades. I’m just kind of surprised so many people like the idea of an indicator, as the people I personally have asked did not like it. I myself really hate it when the entire other team lobs all their grenades at me, but in many situations, someone camps (ie, green vent), so we use our grenades to surprise them. Now, with an indicator, all those surprise attacks I personally liked myself (IMO) would be gone.

Grenades have short fuse time. So even though you know it’s though, you will most likely not be able to avoid it anyways.

Your tired of getting killed by people who can’t use a gun?
That’s been a problem since CE, not just Reach. And it’s not exactly a “problem” too.

I personally think a Grenade Indicator is a bad idea. We already need a Tactical Package/Support Upgrade to be able to pick up more grenades, and having an Indicator makes them even more useless.

Admittedly, this is one of the few things I’ve seen that I’m not too happy about. I’m still thrilled for the game, but I already thought the orange tail on Reach’s grenades was more than necessary. I can see why they’re doing it, but I don’t really think it’s needed.

Just my two cents on the matter.

this

Advanced options for H4

If you look at this link you can see in the E3/Comicon build we had these options.

If it stays this way then you can turn it off if you wish.

Sorry for dissapoint you, but that screen is fanmade for someone in HaloGAF, expressing how much he wished something like (image) where in the game…

So, no, there isn’t such options in the game.
