Halo 4 getting Micro-transactions!!!

And here I thought it couldn’t get much worse.

> Get the new True Ending DLC for only 800MS!
> Unlock the Talking Covenant Pack for only 1600MS! Includes English voiceover DLC! (not compatible with non-US versions)
> Unlock additional loadout weapons with the Ordinance Pack for only 400MS!

100MS each additional clip for your BR!

if this is how we’re getting hayabusa, so be it.

If stances are in micro transactions, I guess it’ll be ok…

> if this is how we’re getting hayabusa, so be it.

It’s never comer back, ever.

Weapons Skins and New Armour.

Who cares, these do not change the game and are a waste of money.

I will only happy to buy new maps. All other crap I don’t care about.

I would prefer of DLC was incorporated in the original purchase price of the game. And all DLC was available for free, if you paid a little extra at start.

DLC is great, but sucks that not everyone has it. There are great maps that people miss out on playing.

This never seemed to be a problem with Halo 2 or Halo 3. Everyone had DLC.

> The fact that people would pay for these cosmetic items is keeping this ridiculous practice alive.
>
> Halo is not like TF2, TF2 has been fundamentally designed to have trading be an important aspect of the game and it’s own in-game economy.
>
> These items should come from the game or be earned not by the almighty dollar.
>
> If developers keep thinking they can exploit gamers into buying into this fad, they will keep taking things away from the game and selling them to get more undeserved profit.

Any logical gamer should be happy for micro-transactions. Here is when you should be angry:

1). When Micro-transactions can be used to buy power (IE weapons and perks)

2). When Micro-transactions are incredibly over priced

3). When Micro-transactions have been with held from the community simply to make more money

343i has done none of these things. If you can’t unlock a piece of armor in game it’s not the biggest thing in the world. If you really want a piece of armor you can easily spend the $5 for it.

I don’t really mind microtransactions, as long as they’re just cosmetic and they aren’t shortcuts and XP boosts (Battlefield 3, for example). I mean, if they’re only cosmetic, what’s so bad about them? There isn’t anything forcing you to buy them, and to be honest there has been the odd occasion when I have an annoying amount of MSP left over and I spend it on something pointless.

> Micro transactions are good things. As long as people cannot pay for power.

Agreed, a few of the games I play have microtransactions here and there. Game like Star Trek Online, Dead Space 2&3, Mass Effect 3, WarFrame, Portal 2, EVE Online, Sims 3, and a few others. But for the most part out of the 8 I listed, 5 of them actually lets you buy in game items using both real life Cash and in game credits.
That kind of microtransactions are great. and I bet a few of you can agree.

I’m surprised this hasn’t been posted yet. David Ellis hinted that this most likely isn’t going to be for H4. So, I’m going to guess it’s for H5.

Any why do you say that? Hayabusa was the -Yoink- back in the day, especially the katana you would see MANY players with. Maybe you don’t like it, but there are those (myself included) who wish they had put it in Reach and H4.

I’m not sure the art team would do so well balancing the multiplayer issues…

I don’t see how anyone could defend such terrible practices. It’s saying that you like having to pay for content that’s already on the disc you payed for. It’s so stupid.

From my experience with Mass Effect 3 multi-player micro-transactions I can only say, I was amazed at all the FREE DLC I received. The developers stated such was possible due to the profit that was made from the willing to spend consumers. I never spent a dime, myself.

I wasn’t overly surprised. How else would players get level 10 weapons on the day of the DLC’s launch?

Besides saving an absolute whole bunch of cR, which would take a very long time.

Hayabusa was only in Halo 3 because Bungie made a deal with the studio that made Ninja Gaiden.

Unless 343 decides to make a similar deal and they agree, Hayabusa armor will never come back.

here’s a thought. has anyone noticed lately that all dlc codes arnt really for sale anymore? Perhaps THAT’S the microtransactions. Examples:CIO web skin, fotus, hazop forest, etc.

Guys, the linked article’s title says COULD. I read about this a few days ago. The guy from 343 said that they were CONSIDERING adding microtransactions, not that it was 100% sure.
Why do you guys care so much anyways? 343 knows what they’re doing, and if they do decide to make microtransactions it’ll be cosmetic stuff like a skin for your gun or new armor. I myself wouldn’t mind spending my Xbox Live Rewards Microsoft Points on a new skin for my BR. (Arctic’s cool and all, but I’m kinda tired of it)
But nope, this is the Halo community where all we do is whine about how much 343 sucks on the internet.

If 343 throw in loads of microtransactions for weapon skins and the like, I’ll probably give up on Halo.

Not especially due to the microtransactions themselves, but if 343 have had the time to program these into the game rather than fixing all the stuff that needs fixing (and has needed fixing since launch), then their priorities are obviously completely wrong, and they don’t give a -Yoink- about their community.

Loads of people ask for a DMR nerf - no response.

Nobody asks to pay for armour and weapon skins - 343 consider it.

Slowly but surely 343 are losing the entire Halo community.

What you will find, is that it is stuff already in game.

Halo engine can’t support addition of new weapons and what not (skins are technically different weapons) so it will just be the pre-order bonuses released as items.
