Halo 4 getting Micro-transactions!!!

While I’m not keen with microtransactions, and don’t care about them now, my beef and worry is what they could turn into down the road. What if it turns into something horrible, like paying for every little thing and having it cost outrageous amounts of money? Sure, it may be all fine and dandy now, but what about down the road? We just don’t know.

if halo ever becomes a pay to win, im out.

> > I personaly don’t see the problems with micro-trasnactions. So what if people want to spend their own money on items that don’t impact on the gameplay in any way. They only become a problem when thay start to affect gameplay. For that reason I say #Dealwithit (I’ve been wanting to use that for months).

> You might see the problem when videgame makers start releasing incomplete games so they can get more of your money.Oh wait too late its already happening.

Exactly, if I’m going to end up paying 60.00 for a game half or less than half finished, only to have to spend 20-30 dollars to get the rest of the game, when games used to come finished at 60.00, then I’m out. This is just getting ridiculous. I’m not wasting my money and giving my money to these developers only looking to make a quick buck by selling crappy half baked (you know what I wanted to say) games at the price of a normal game. I know they say that gaming is expensive hobby, but this is just stupid now. The problem is people are too stupid to see what is happening and too stupid to follow along… Its only going to get worse

Its become such a sad money grab now, im embarrassed

This sounds like something EA would do.

Get the new True Ending DLC for only 800MS!
Unlock the Talking Covenant Pack for only 1600MS! Includes English voiceover DLC! (not compatible with non-US versions)
Unlock additional loadout weapons with the Ordinance Pack for only 400MS!

Normally play to win games are free, a game that is not free and play to win is the War Z

microtransactions are fine, but when it comes to getting hard weapons and/or equipment (like black ops II’s peacekeeper epic fail) then it will get to be stupid. Armor is fine, I would pat over $10 for a full REAL ODST suit, not this recruit -Yoink-.Also, if there were in-game dlc weapons, what the -yoink- would the be? “Hey, I got this weird new shooty thing, ima spray the living daylights out of it!” SMGs would be nice to see again, maybe old “classic” skins for all weps to make them look like H2,3 and reach. I can say this though, as would most people, I would pay an arm and a leg to get dual wielding back, even if it’s just a few select weapons, even if it has to be two of the same weapon…magnum and plasma pistol…the good days…

The fact that people would pay for these cosmetic items is keeping this ridiculous practice alive.

Halo is not like TF2, TF2 has been fundamentally designed to have trading be an important aspect of the game and it’s own in-game economy.

These items should come from the game or be earned not by the almighty dollar.

If developers keep thinking they can exploit gamers into buying into this fad, they will keep taking things away from the game and selling them to get more undeserved profit.

And here I thought it couldn’t get much worse.

100MS each additional clip for your BR!

if this is how we’re getting hayabusa, so be it.

If stances are in micro transactions, I guess it’ll be ok…

It’s never comer back, ever.

Weapons Skins and New Armour.

Who cares, these do not change the game and are a waste of money.

I will only happy to buy new maps. All other crap I don’t care about.

I would prefer of DLC was incorporated in the original purchase price of the game. And all DLC was available for free, if you paid a little extra at start.

DLC is great, but sucks that not everyone has it. There are great maps that people miss out on playing.

This never seemed to be a problem with Halo 2 or Halo 3. Everyone had DLC.

Any logical gamer should be happy for micro-transactions. Here is when you should be angry:

1). When Micro-transactions can be used to buy power (IE weapons and perks)

2). When Micro-transactions are incredibly over priced

3). When Micro-transactions have been with held from the community simply to make more money

343i has done none of these things. If you can’t unlock a piece of armor in game it’s not the biggest thing in the world. If you really want a piece of armor you can easily spend the $5 for it.

I don’t really mind microtransactions, as long as they’re just cosmetic and they aren’t shortcuts and XP boosts (Battlefield 3, for example). I mean, if they’re only cosmetic, what’s so bad about them? There isn’t anything forcing you to buy them, and to be honest there has been the odd occasion when I have an annoying amount of MSP left over and I spend it on something pointless.

> Micro transactions are good things. As long as people cannot pay for power.

Agreed, a few of the games I play have microtransactions here and there. Game like Star Trek Online, Dead Space 2&3, Mass Effect 3, WarFrame, Portal 2, EVE Online, Sims 3, and a few others. But for the most part out of the 8 I listed, 5 of them actually lets you buy in game items using both real life Cash and in game credits.
That kind of microtransactions are great. and I bet a few of you can agree.

I’m surprised this hasn’t been posted yet. David Ellis hinted that this most likely isn’t going to be for H4. So, I’m going to guess it’s for H5.

Any why do you say that? Hayabusa was the -Yoink- back in the day, especially the katana you would see MANY players with. Maybe you don’t like it, but there are those (myself included) who wish they had put it in Reach and H4.
