Just because it didn’t win the award, doesn’t mean it isn’t a highly anticipated title.
And besides, the ME franchise is just as strong as the Halo franchise, possibly stronger (considering there is concrete information that ME is getting a film adaption). All of the nominees where deserving of the award.

It’s a new studio, and a new game. I have literally no inclination to believe that it will be amazing or terribly bad. If 343i indeed does great with Halo 4, I’ll “anticipate” their next game (Halo 5, probably) because I have a basis by which my faith is placed.
Now with Bioware, They’ve been around making games for a long time and I know that if they say ME3 will be something special, it will.

Mass Effect has a big fanbase now, not to mention Bioware is a top tier developer and they’ve shown gameplay, trailers, updating the fans with news etc. The gameplay reveal at the VGAs was short and sweet. It was pretty cool.
Halo 4? Nah, just concept art and one trailer w/ no gameplay and hardly any information (subtle hints towards Halo 4 doesn’t cut it though it is appreciated nonetheless). It didn’t stand a chance because it quite frankly, has done nothing to deserve a nomination when you compare to the amount of pre release content for ME3. This is coming from someone who loves Halo too. If it did show off more prior to the VGAs, it could have been a contender. Just don’t mistake as a bad sign, Halo 4 isn’t going to suck. It just didn’t win an award, that’s all.
I know a lot of you fans are pissed but there’s always the next VGAs, where Halo 4 can flex it’s muscle with actual gameplay/trailers and not some concept art using what I swear is Mass Effect music.
There’s a bit of irony i think. The Halo 4 concept art trailer used Mass Effect style music at Halo Fest and Mass Effect 3 ends up becoming next years most anticipated game.
So i was seeing the VGA awards and i didnt see anything about halo. LIKE NOTHING. I was all bummbed out koz halo is a really sick game that i enjoy playing everyday. Halo reach was bad. Thats why it didnt win anything. Make halo 4 a game people woiuld LOVE. just like halo 3. Wen it was out it was like 100000000 a day in halo 3. That was the good ol AMAZING days of halo. 343i. Two things.
#1 there is a whole topic about the VGA.
#2 343i said they wasn’t going to show a Halo 4 trailer at the VGA, and Halo 4 lost to Mass Effect 3 I think. Which made some Halo community members mad, but then again, the amount of Halo community members who voted for Halo 4 doesn’t out weight the general public’s vote.

You sir is dead wrong. 343i doesn’t need to go to some convention to show of a trailer, this isn’t the 1960s, this 2011, soon to be 2012, we have the INTERNET! Also, like Toa Freak said, the major Hype building ad campaign doesn’t start until a month or so before the game is released. The announcement trailer has been release, earlier than normal, but it’s been released, we have a full year before Halo 4 is going to be released, and we have about 6 to 8 months before 343i should even start the hype building campaign, and in the next 6 months we’ll start seeing trailers and more info. When they do show off a new trailer, like I said, 343i doesn’t need a convention to go too, they have the internet, they post news on their web site, twitter, facebook, and youtube, and the news will spread like wild fire, there will be tons of videos on the internet, and the trailer on waypoint’s channel will get a few million views with in the first hour or so. Trust me I know this, I trolled every one on Youtube the night of the Halo 3 CGI trailer at the Super Bowl half time show, I got a very large number of views 5 hours after I posted the video.
Halo’s fan base is large, and every member of the fan base has a few family members, and friends, and I bet you that the hype will build on it’s own.
I’m going to PAX East… I’ll see if there’s anything Halo related there.
Don’t worry Halo is microsofts flagship game. Geting adds on the xbox dash board is basically free for Halo. Not to mention since Halo 4 is a MAIN halo game it willrecieve lots of advertising.

Also Mass Effect 3 was announced way before Halo 4 was, and is going to be released the beginning of next year, so there’s been more info released on it. And like BD said, so far we’ve had a CG announcement trailer, and a concept art trailer, and the warthog. But we haven’t seen any game play, and it’s not Bungie working on the game, so a lot of people are still on the fence about the new Halo game, yes a lot of you active forum members talk a lot about Halo 4, and might be the most anticipated game in your minds, but what about those Halo community members who are not active on the forums?
There’s still about a year left until release. You can only drag out hype for so long before it gets old.

This. I used to be a blind fanboy… until Reach. But also because a new developer with an old franchise makes people uncertain. It’s understandable.
Truth be told, ME3 is my most-anticipated. Been waiting for this since ME1, it releases in March, etc.
