You think they purposely didn’t release it?
Of course they never meant to do it, it’s not like all of a sudden it came to the 9th and Frankie turns up and is like “Oh my god, guys it’s the VGA awards tomorrow and we don’t have anything to show”. They have a calander of when things will be shown, announced, finalized etc.
I fail to see the point of this thread quite frankly.
Eh, to be honest i was more excited for the Fall of Cybertron debut trailer. It more than made up for Halo 4.
As for the future, i am 99.9 percent sure will be getting more info later on during the Winter, Spring and of course Summer.
My only fear is that all this anticipation will be built up (for some) to such a degree that they will disappointed with anything Halo 4 reveals. According to all the disappointment for the lack of a Halo 4 trailer, this may come to pass.
Look, GDC is less than 3 months away. I would say that would be the latest possible trailer date.
Maybe they’re trying to build up anticipation… or they just weren’t ready for a trailer. It is about a year away, and it can take a while to make a trailer. Which would mean to have one ready for VGA, they would have had to start it when they had even less done. They will release when they are ready, no point in making a badly made, pointless, weird trailer if it may not even look like Halo yet.
I was away for a few time … I came back and I saw everyone cry because Halo 4 is not the most anticipated game for some VGA-award… and there was no trailer and…and…and…
Well right… who cares?!
I personaly think, that these awards are overrated… or do you check, if you want to buy a new game, which awards it got? Or do you choose an other game, because it has more awards for something… guess not.
I bought Halo 3 aswell, and -Oh shock- it was not most anticipated game, even not best xbox game… XD
I know about the fact, that it is impossible to rate a thing as “Best of all”.
You can’t compare forza to bioshock; or bioshock to halo, or diablo to halo wars… etc.pp.
This makes no sense in my opinion.
These rewards are realy not very important… they are not unimportent, but “Most anticipated game…” this is so -Yoink- unimportant…roflol XD

But I can tell you: I know from my own expiriences, that some porjects get revealed later than others (Well… I talk over books and similar things right now… not over Games, but i think it is very similar).
And: it is NOT because of they are topsecret, or they are behind in their progress.
Imagine they say something over the weapons, and then they have to change 50% of them again. That would look … not good.

I guess, they are working on all ends (what is not so unusual in some projects)… that means nothing is so far right now, that it can be revealed without the problem, that they reveal something that won’t be in the final Halo 4 version.
(That’s why there was only artwork.)
The other thing is: the communication between the guys who choose to reveal something is always… and I mean always… very slow:

Halo 4 will come, and even if it needs more time (what I don’t think) they won’t cancel the programm. lol … so calm down.

I think it is good, that nothing is out yet. Because that means, they keep room for changes and so on.
Would be worse if they say: “This is the Halo 4 we want to build and period! We don’t care about our fans.”
Also this shows 343 takes realy care about halo 4.
Or would you reveal some information before you think the aspect is perfect, if you work on a game that is realy important for you?
Well: Then they could reveal a trailer, like bioshock done. And the next one. And the next one…

There was no reason to mistrust 343. They even said: sry, no trailer.

I think that was just Spike’s doing. Maybe they wanted to lure in the halo audience so more people would watch the show or something.

He was doing things way to radically with the game that would have messed up the core of Halo and 343i said he couldn’t have his way, so he resigned.

Agreed.
Fall of Cybertron looks like an amazing game. Add in Dinobots and you get one heck of a ride. 
They probably had pictures of all the nominees.

Its not like they didn’t say there won’t be a trailer (they did btw).
Also, this is not such a bad thing: think about it, the game is less than a year away (probably closer to 9 months away), soon they will HAVE to reveal more sh*t. We’ve got less than a month till Primordium releases and then thats officially it. There will probably be a month of silent anticipation, led by a 12 page reveal in gameinformer magazine- and then, a trailer as part of their month long coverage. After that we will get some minor trailers and "Waypoint Exclusive"s and then there will be PAX East, E3, ComicCon, PAX Prime and the release.
I’m calling it right now: in either Feb. or March, Halo 4 will be revealed. Mark my words… MARK 'EM!
It’s fine that they didn’t release a trailer. That time will come. I want them to take their time with Halo 4 build-up. The hype needs to slowly build up, and then explode about 3 months before release.

I would expect that from Spike, with their horrible awards and bias.
Reach was most anticipated and boom, it sucked.

This sounds about right, and it seems like it worked quite well too.
I for one disagree. I think Halo 4 should have been Most Anticipated. But that award doesn’t matter. The real deal is next year’s VGAs! Besides, Halo 4 is my Most Anticipated… What about you guys?
Yeah. I pretty much ignored the VGA awards. Don`t get me wrong Mass effect is a good game.
Im going to buy it. But Halo 4 will be my most anticipated game until it comes out.
Yeah, and the Mass Effect 3 trailer wasn’t that great either…
