Halo 4 Gamplay

Heres a Gif found in the Halo 4 news and links HubSpoiler Alert

Just a couple of things I noticed inspecting this.

 1. There seems to be a new medal that appears in the top right corner along side the assist medal, or at least one that I dont recognize. Just wondering what it could be and why it would show up with an assist and not a kill.

 2. There are numbers next to the medals in the top right corner. This could signify how many of that particular medal you have gotten in either the entire game or just one life. Or it could represent how many points or credits or what have you the medal is worth. your thoughts?

 3. Im wondering what game type they are playing because they dont get points for killing a person it seems but instead for doing certain things during the game such as shooting someone. Ive derived at this because watching the top players score you can see it jump from 378 to 389 to 398 each time he puts a shot into the other player and also his score is increasing even though hes not holding an objective and hasnt killed anyone. Perhaps it is a game type designed for accruing point by doing tasks rather than scoring or holding an objective or simply killing people. This leads me to believe that the number found next to the medals could represent how much each medal is worth in points toward your score.

 1. I don’t know which one that is either, it’s hard to tell from just this screenshot. New type of medal?

 2. You are correct here as you are rewarded points for doing certain things to enemy player. More on that below.

 3. It’s a new gametype, i am pretty sure of it. Say you get a headshot, it’s no longer just a single kill but points. Or if you get assists, the player that helped you gets five points and you get five points for the kill (10 points in each) to create the illusion that assists mean something. In theory anyways but it does tell the player who got the assist that they are helping out as in old Halos assists do not give the feeling of satisfaction.

Do you have any proof or is this just speculation? Not to discredit you I just like to have concrete information if at all possible.

Yeah assist always just make me mad, I mean I dont mind someone else helping ME to get a kill but if im the one who ends up with the assist I just feel cheated. Selfish I know but its true. You have to get a ridiculous amount of assists just to prove to your teamates that you were just as significant to the team as the top slayer was. The only thing in halo that has come close to making assists worth while is the the arena rating in reach. An assist in arena is almost as good as a kill when it comes to your rating for the game.

That looks amazing! I can’t wait to see more.

maybe its killing them without any sheild?

 1. It looks like an assist spree medal to me.

 2. Yes they tested a point system in annvi playlist and they think it is better so they may put another playlist like it in halo 4 or put it in every playlist.

 3. They got a kill on their team during the encounter he was having so the points did not go up while he was shooting…above his radar check the kill and note the time and then his the points go up with them.

It’s speculation of course, which is why said “in theory” anyways but it’s sound speculation nonetheless and it’s pretty logical to come to the same conclusion based off that screenshot.

Its not selfish, in fact i feel the same way if get assists. However (and ME 3 is the only game i know that rewards assists properly) if this system works similar to how i stated, assists would be a GOOD thing to earn and not necessarily a medal to ruin your day and make you feel bad that didn’t contribute to the teams kills.
