Whenever i go into war games, a few game modes are missing (king of the hill, extraction, grifball, team snipers) that werent missing before. The only possible factor was me downloading the crimson map pack. after the free trial ended, these playlists dissapeared, can anyone help me out with this?
Unfortunately my friend they are gone. Nobody gets to play those anymore. For a month or so they would take away a playlist while adding another, and those were the ones that got cut. Now they don’t even add any, they just pick one to feature in that stupid -Yoink!- Gaming whatever crap.
Why can’t they add playlists while keeping the ones from before? Why do they have to take some away when they add a new one? Because they have been throwing their spaghetti everywhere since launch, so why change that reputation? It works for them for some reason. So nuts to us, I guess. Strange attitude for a company to take.
Snipers averaged 2K players, so it was rotated out for a different game mode. They’ve said from the beginning that less popular non-DLC playlists would be subject to rotation.
See above for Extraction/KotH
Grifball hasn’t been put in.
They aren’t missing, they have been removed or not implemented.
What really gets me is the fact that they have to rotate playlists at all. So Snipers isn’t as popular as other gametypes. Who cares? I genuinely enjoyed it and the other 2,000 people in the playlist obviously did too. Are they really that slammed for server space that they can’t add something without removing something else? I just don’t understand what’s going on here.
Just a heads up: Matchmaking playlist updates from December 17 to January 19 will focus on the Halo 4 Infinity Challenge. There are also a few things planned for early 2013 including Team Slayer Pro, Grifball, Double Team, and more!
Thanks for the heads up rukizzel, I look forward to Double Team. But why are we limited to just 10 choices? Halo 3 (if I recall correctly) had at least twice that many, and I never had a very difficult time finding a game in any of them. This is just one of the most frustrating things about Halo 4 to me. Maybe I’m just weird, but in previous games I always enjoyed the less-traditional playlists the most, like Snipers, Action Sack, etc. And although it wasn’t my favorite, I know for a fact that Grifball was a big hit. So why limit us?
Why remove playlists just because they don’t pull Slayer numbers? 343 doesn’t understand that all those 2k-3k playlists add up and are a big part of the community. Taking them away will drive players who don’t want to play Slayer all the time away.

That’s such a stupid idea. Most of us don’t care about the Infinity Challenge and from early on it was plagued with account feeders and cheats.

They pulled those that don’t even pull SWAT numbers. SWAT averages 5 times as many as Snipers did. SWAT stays, even though it also doesn’t average Slayer numbers.

Most of us don’t care about MLG either. Based on participation, I’d wager fewer care about MLG than the Infinity Challenge.
So I guess we can cross bothering with MLG off the list. Awesome

It still makes no sense to pull playlists that people play. They are basically saying the people that played snipers don’t matter. Taking away variety makes the game stale and hurts the population.

Agreed. 99% of the community is smart enough to know that the 1% tryhards will play 24 hours a day, cheat, boost, and scam their way into the top tier. It’s not a casual competition. The majority doesn’t have the time, skill, want, or need to attempt this challenge. So we wait…and wait…and wait…
