Halo 4 search filter! The end to raging “VOTES!” and “None of the above” screamfest
We have all remembered in Halo 3 the people yelling out VETO! VETO!! VETO!!! Only to afterwards get a map or gametype worse then that. Then Reach Beta it had selection but always picked the first map because no one voted rarely. Then in Halo Reach they made it so only if you vote it counts but if the person didnt like it they quit.
Now instead of wasting away banhammers on quitters saying “play the game even though you dont like it or you risk getting banned policy” isnt really helping halo out and turn alot of people off.
BF3 came with a filter i liked but i think this would be even better then that. Now i know there is no way something like this you could say no to. everyone gets what they want and ALOT “LESS” people will quit matches.
Remember its not gonna look exactly like this or have this few of options. This is to get the idea across and you can see exactly what I mean.
Since Halo has had different systems for this it wouldnt be going against anything original. You select what you want and get lobbies that you want. find your favorite. even add a random selection if you just dont care what you get. you can choose all maps and/or gametypes or you can choose to do just one map and gametype over and over again if thats what YOU want.
No more people telling you what you have to play, its your choice to have fun! When a new DLC comes out it will be added. You select and show you servers and you sit in the lobby and wait to fill up and then start the game.
it will make somethings like reach had to be rendered useless liek you can see what severs are near you so you get better connection and people of your language, you can get in quick to a 15/16 players so quick matches to find. and the selection of rank will list you into servers of people your rank and to earn rank while social is anyone high or low.
Now who is with me on this awesome idea that should be submitted for Halo 4?
Wow did i leave people speechless on this cool idea or something? really nothing to say at all about this neat idea? i know for one it would be somethign amazing to have.
I prefer the vetoing system tbh. It meant you had to be good at every map, which made the game more competitive. Anybody can memorise the spawn points and weapon drops of a single map and practice their cross map nades etc. Practicing this for all the maps is a hell of a lot harder.
I prefer the veto system instead, But those who quit should not be banned.
they should get - on skills.

have you played bf3? this deals nothing about memorization because most of the spawn on the map are random, the only way you spawn kill is grifball. no one is good at all maps in the end everyone has certain maps they like and so this would stop forcing alot of people to quit because they know the map they are playing on they are gonna let down there team anyways.
Would you really want a person on your team weighing you down or have him play the map he likes while you play the map you like with other common people which lessen the quiting?

The spawning in Halo is not random. The enemy won’t spawn on a point you or a teamate is guarding, so you can quickly eliminate a lot of the spawnpoints if they can only spawn on their base. Then there is usually little options for them to psawn, so if you go to one if the unguarded spawn points, you’re very likely to meet an enemy.
If you just one play one map, you will encounter a lot of people who learned the spawn points before playing that map. Ergo more spawnkilling. Ergo more rage quits.

No, go to forge and look they have lots of spawns that are nuetral for game modes. all they have to do is add a even more spawns all over the map there for no spawn killing.
Again have you played BF3?
this selection works great. if i wanna play a certain map with a certain form of CTF, like 1 flag. i should get the option to play that map until i wanna switch to something else. im tired of people yelling and -Yoinking!- and the hate mail if you dont vote the way you want them to. sure you can ignore but you get 500 over them from others later and by the end it just not appealing anymore. also when you first get the game you wont know what each map is like so people will have to try out each map anyways and gametypes.

BF is a very different game, with huge maps, spawn shields, kill zones that work for one side only.
I have seen the spawn points in forge, I have also seen the spawn trappers which are unhindered by them.
Also, no offense but can you fix this: “sure you can ignore but you get 500 over them from others later and by the end it just not appealing anymore” because I don’t have a clue what it means.

People say just ignore them but if you have to do that every fing game that gets annoying and having to mute the mic doesn’t work because everyone get pissed if you mute the mic because you didn’t vote for the map your teammates want. Or someone is an -Yoink!- to some else because he changed to vote at the last second to a horrible map and all that bs. A search filter cuts all the bs out.
Also it doesn’t matter what the map is in BF. You can play SQDM or TDM and those are extremely small maps you play in yet you still avoid spawn killing. Look at guardian in Halo 3. I play one lone wolves and people have been playing that map for years and know all the spawn points yet no one get spawn killed! This is a filter. If someone knows the map too well then that means 343 didn’t do its job with enough spawn points. Make spawn points for every inch of the map if you have to and you solve it indefinitely.
So in the end this still would work. If I wanna play alpha zombie over and over and not have to play infection with ninja rolling zombies, that would be great cuz idk who thought it would be fun to have zombies, the stereotype of being slowish, having the ability to go ninja. I go with alpha zombie because it closer to the original H2 zombies. If we have search filters like this and there is something wrong with the map that no one will play of it then it will help 343 tell them that they need to fix the map. More spawn points, different weapon locations rather than forcing people to play on a broken map. Some people say “I’m tired of playing on Sword base for zombies” but ever thought the other people like it. Here’s the option to choose a different map to play on so you can quit the *****ing and I play my game and you play yours. With hopefully more people then bf3 that would mean you would have even more choices.

OK I seriously don’t know what kind of sociopaths you’ve been playing with but I’ve never recieved hate mail for not voting for the map they wanted and if I did I’d tell them to quit bieng such a **** baby and ****ing get the **** over themselves. Report them, block them and leave it at that.
As for Guardian, playing one match where no one was spawnkilled does not prove spawnkilling doesn’t occur. IMO this is akin to saying “No meteorite has ever struck the Earth, because we have records of 5 days where no meteorite crash landed in centeral London.”
Like I said before, search filters are a problem affecting the competitive side of Halo. I’m not against it bieng in social playlists such as living dead, provided it is kept out of things like Racked Slayer, Ranked objective, SWAT, Snipers, MLG etc. Not to mention there are so many gametypes on Halo you’d never find a game.
> I prefer the vetoing system tbh. It meant you had to be good at every map, which made the game more competitive. Anybody can memorise the spawn points and weapon drops of a single map and practice their cross map nades etc. Practicing this for all the maps is a hell of a lot harder.
I don’t want to know how to cross map nade on Swordbase or Endzeit.

See what i mean? you say block them i have tried that but doing that every game is gotten to annoying. let them play on there map and i play on mine so they stop complaining and i can enjoy my map and gametype with peopel of common mind.

One match? not i have played that map on MM over 1000x in the course of when it released til even today and i think that says alot.

Lol never find a game? XD OMG i think ima **** myself laughing. Halo has more people then BF3 does if Halo Reach hasnt scarred them all away we are talking millions of people being the continuation of Halo 3 with one of the biggest cliff hangers. if that not something to get millions more to buy idk what is. You will be about to get more matches then you can imagine. there will always be room. if there in no one playing on that gametype and map you are specifically looking for then that tells 343 to fix the map because no one likes it so it needs improvement. but i highly doubt it would die that bad. i can select one map of one gametype and still find 5-10 different servers with a spot open.
You really need to buy bf3 and try it out. this is even better then the BF3 selection because if i had the choice between Conquest and Conquest Assault i think people would choose Conquest more often because of more vehicles which would tell dice there isnt enough vehicles for CA.
You can find matches even quicker on this which is better then having the system look for matches for you, instead you find the match you want. you can select close by to get get servers with better connection

i think he has played too much COD4 because i have never been cross map nade when i spawn ever.
Point is you shouldn’t have to put up with horrendeus maps, like swordbase or endzeit, or boardwalk. Although, hopefully, those won’t be in the game, in any large quantities.

I have played BF3, it’s an amzing game, I still fail to see how it’s relevant. But to say you could find a match easily on any search is ridiculous. Just look at how many game modes Reach has:
Slayer
Slayer Pro
Slayer DMRs
CTF
One flag
Neutral flag
One flag pro
2 flag slayer
I’m just gonna stop right there because I could be here all day but that barely scrapes the surface. Multiply every possible game mode, with every possible map, including DLC and community maps, then multiply that by all the possible team configurations including 8v8 6v6 4v4 2v2 3v3v3v3 2v2v2v2v2v2 and FFA. That is the number of possible search outcomes. There would be hundereds, if not thousands, of possible searches. This would be incredibly impractical and unnecessary IMO.

This has never actually happened in Reach. However it happened on Halo 3 frequently, particularly on games of KOTH. The spawnkilling is much more apparent though.

Ultimate facepalm
No, I hate CoD with a passion. And you do realise if people just played their one favourite map cross map nading would become more frequent? That was the entire point of my post which you seem to have missed.

BF 1 map and gametype i can find over 50+ servers open. and you dont understand what going one here with servers and how they work. saying there wouldnt find a server because there are too many would be like saying in HR why there isnt a particular map n gametype that shows up and that because it being taken up. if youd see it there would always be open spots. 343 would have so many servers for H4 they could easily make servers that are open to joing around 80+. you would find matches. and it would show what matches people like and which ones you are the minority and it would tell 343 “clearly not enough people are picking this map n gametype so something must be unappealing so lets fix it”

Its not like you are going to choose to play one map and gametype over and over again you will have multiple maps selected, it gives players the freedom to not be restricted to some else saying “you cant play your favorite map because the rest think its stupid so you have to play ours or get banned for quitting”. If I select 1 map and gametype in BF3 I get over 50+ servers with the west coats US only. If we are talking about halo4 a bigger population with way more servers this would be great. You know how much sometimes I wanna play on sanctuary for zombies and yet I cant because im kinda sick of swordbase but because it shows up people will vote for it. And others wanna play sanctuary but in order for that to happen you would have to spend hours finding 11 other common people that want that map and that’s not something people are willing to do, and go into match to find that map and hope its one of the 3 and if not then vote none of the above and still not get the map and site through game to get the map. Overall you had to get a full lobby just to get the voting power for the map you want overall in the end making it stressful and less fun.
If you know how servers work like me you would know they would always have a server for every gametype and map and this woulds cause less laggy matches if you chose servers near you and with more people getting maps they want you would solve a lot of the quiting overall it would please everyone. Yet you are digging to find something so small and can be fixed like spawn killing by this way showing that there is something wrong and rather then make 100s of youtube vids the servers would be empty to tell 343 there is a problem, they look into it, and find out “oh we need to layout more spawns.”
You are trying to find something wrong and in the end its not good enough. Just like the people that thought on CoD forums thought the ability to put suppressors on your sniper rifles for mw2 would be the end to red dots on the mini map. And you now what? Nothing happened. You could do it and not show up on the mini map but in the end it didn’t end red dots. And GOW3 with the DBNO smoke grenades that would make GOW3 just a gigantic smoke war and that it would destry every GOW fan as the game would be ruined FOREVER. But you know what? As someone of that argument I proved it wouldn’t be as they thing and in the end it proved that nothing bad is going to happen. So if there ever was a spawn killing problem then this would make it more clear to 343 and then the add way more spawn points. Simple. Why are you trying so hard to find something wrong? And there will be servers way easier to find matches with way more servers and also some gametypes where completely pointless anways and could easily be forgotten like H2 to H3 and H3 to Hr. if a strong enough group disagree then they can easily bring it back.

i didnt miss a thing. in Halo 3 guardian that map i have played over because it probably the most popular lonewolf map why everyone votes for it and even how small the map is. i have never watched a game in guardian where, people that have played it over 1000x knew and threw grenades to get kills because it was random to were they spawn. if people are figuring out the spawn points to spawn kill with frags then that proves my other point that 343 it would tell them that they need to fix the map, like putting more spawn points on the map.
