Whats all this “Halo 4 should be based of the competitive community” stuff?
I mean im very competitive and i try to win almost every game. But i dont play MLG or
arena because they are always to serious. You always start with DMRs you only have sprint
only perfectly symmetrical maps.
So why shouldnt we focus on fun more than how serious the game is? I mean thats what a
video game is for, getting on for a little and having a little fun. It doesnt have to be
a big fat world that everyone is 100% serious about and if they dont like something they
have to complain until it gets fixed.
Fun stuff that competitive players think are stupid:
AR
Needler
Armor Lock (oops im dead)
Bloom is fun to some extent
Jetpack
Sprint (dont you like running around like a super soldier?)
Elites in matchmaking.
So yeah maybe a couple of things make the game fun sometimes and not fun other times(armor lock, sprint) but all the others are just fine.
So do you want halo 4 to be built for fun or built for all those MLG competitive serious people who think they’re awesome.

Thank you! Im the same way, im super competitive but i dont play any of those settings. I play reachs settings in regular matchmaking because tis way harder and fun than the MLG because you have all the other settings. I miss the elites in mathcmaking, and so long as the hitbox is fixed than all should be fine right?

Now who said i was messing around? I use the needler competitively, there’s a right
way and a wrong way to use it. And I now how to avoid being killed by it.
I dont like being derpy either, it gives me a headache. But you can use all this fun stuff
to win and play the game.

Exactly, if its in the game, people think its cheap. Cheap or not, i still beat you, and if its in the game its not neccesarily cheap now is it? And i hate being loud and obnoxious while playing, it throws me off and i play worse.

THANK YOU i feel the same way as you do(except AL). i play to win but i like to have fun. (plus i feel like MLG n00bs are n00bs because to be good they have to change the games settings)
I think Halo4 should accommodate both communities. I am assuming that those people who play mlg do so because the mlg settings are more fun for them than the default settings. And thats fine. I think that as long as you enjoy playing halo than there is no wrong way to play it.

I’m sorry, what??? Vanilla Reach is way harder than MLG? Really? MLG is possible the most skill-demanding playlist in Reach. Increased movement speed, decreased melee damage, zero bloom(meaning you have to be perfectly accurate, not just close to the person), AAs as pick-ups on the map, and everyone starts off equally.
That being said, I don’t play MLG because of the lack of maps and weapons. I don’t mind most of the weapons, even though I never touch them. I don’t play MLG because I get my -Yoink- kicked so hard(I don’t have a party to go in with).
I have no issue with elites in matchmaking. It had fun playing as one in H3 cuz it was a lot harder for people to headshot me from behind in SWAT.

Yeah, but people spawning with armor lock and jet packs and getting to high places right off the bat is a lot more annoying and harder to deal with than everyone starting off equally… As for prefectly accurate, thats why i play swat, because if you dont get him on the first shot you are dead.
You seriously didnt understand this post at all. And you my friend are the perfect example for something.
Can the “Competitive” community and the “casuals” not get along? Im right in between, being a comptitive player who supposrt the new ideas, but is it not possible for us to just get along like before reach?
If we get along we could come up with better ideas and compromises…

Oh, please do tell me how. Do you outstrafe them?
Right way to use it is pointing it in the general directions of your target and watching the bullets track your enemy automatically. It’s not a skillful or competitive weapon in any way. It’s broken.

Its a power weapon, just like the sniper just like the shotgun. So its not broken and its
not cheap.
And no you dont outstrafe them. As the needles are coming towards you, you move behind a
wall and let the needles hit the wall, when his clip is out you kill him. Now that might
seem stupid and obvious but it works. Of course if your out in the open your dead. But
is that any different than coming around a corner with a shotgun pointing at you? Or
being stuck in a corner with a rocket coming at you?
The needler has been there in every halo, the needler is part of what halo is. So if you
want Halo you get the needler.
