So um… why was Chief the only one with Spartan II armour? and how could Kelly and Fred use helmets that doesn’t exist yet?
Fred had Mk V (b) rite? well, the wiki says: "The Mark V entered service in 2551 along with the standard Mark V armor set." And Kelly had if I am not mistaken Air assault? "Entered service in 2535; the MJOLNIR/AA variant is exclusive to Army airborne units." So um, if I’m not wrong this is quite canon breaking… Sources: Air Assault Mk V (b) My self
I assume that they didn’t have the time and resources to create more MK IV sets for the actors of Fred and Kelly (the suit looks HUGE on her lol). So they reused and modified the sets used in Deliver Hope.

ololreally?
You think 343i will stop to that? They have change canon more than enough with justification (crappy in my opinion. Just say it you want that instead of the original don’t try to cover it up with fail justification to make a few people sleep better at night) they don’t even need a justification anymore if you ask me. They might as well just patch Reach and change the year the Air assault/… were created and be done with it! :o)

Money and time care not for canon.
It does break canon, and even though I’m a huge fan of the Halo lore, it doesn’t really bother me that much.
> -Yoink!- it! You broke the rules! You broke the rules, 343! EVERYONE’S GONNA BE MAD 'COS YOU BROKE RULES!!!
Are you -Yoinking!- kidding me? Funny guy… I just want Halo to follow canon, it have always done that. I don’t care if you don’t care but for me the canon is a BIG part of Halo. If 343 are going to screw around with it they will make atleast me disappointed.

Well, it bothers me I’m sorry. I thought about it at the first time I saw it…

I hope you’re kidding. 343 is catering to canon a lot more than Bungie ever did. If you’re so dedicated to it, then you should know this. Yes they have broke canon a few times, but the canon breaking/canon catering ratio tips largely in their favor.
343 didn’t screw with it, the directors did. Even then, they were just using resources they had so they could dedicate budget towards other things to make this series possible. This wasn’t a high end project, we knew from the start that it would be a low budget series, and given the tools they had, I think they did a great job.

Ever think outside the box and guess I don’t know Mark IV prototypes of Air Assault and Mark Vs? These types of retcons are far from “quite canon breaking” these sort of things happen all the time to many fandoms.
