when you play split screen on any map made in forge, in a playlist, custom game, anything, the framerate drops so low that its unplayable. it is absolute atrocious. is there a fix for this?

Have you tried lowering the screen resolution in you Xbox 360 system settings under display? I haven’t tried it before but if playing on PC counts for anything, a lower resolution should give you a higher frame rate. (Or in this case reduce the amount of frame rate drops from playing split-screen.)
