halo 4 foward unto dawn re - designed?

At the end of halo 3 we jumped a warthog into the foward unto dawn. If you’ve forgotten what it looks like, its “this”

Now i am aware that after halo 3, this ship got ripped in half by a teleporter. on the halo 4 teaser trailer, the foward unto dawn ship looks nothing like the one off halo 3. Even though it was ripped apart, i can not work out what part of the ship is remaining, because the one from halo 4 looks totally different. It looks as if the wings are closer in, i dont know.

If someone has any youtube link which shows how the ship was ripped in half, i would appreciate it, otherwise, i would be happy to hear what/why you think its different to the one from halo 3.

Thanks

Maybe they redesigned it.

They redesigned the ship, just like many other things in the game.

It’s been in space for like, 7 years, it’s gonna be warped immensely by the time the game starts.

It looks a bit different, but it’s hard to say exactly what’s happened to it in five years. Maybe some things got knocked loose and fell off by space debris, maybe Cortana got bored and launched some sections out into space. Or maybe it’s been completely overhauled. Hard to tell.

It looks like the back quarter of the Forward Unto Dawn welded onto the front 3/4’s of the Infinity.

If you look closely the shape is consistent. It’s a graphical update but not a retcon. It’s canonically consistent.
