Halo 4 Forward Unto Dawn not making sense...

Can someone explain to me how Forward Unto Dawn went from this and this

to…

This between Halo 3 and Halo 4? It looks completely different, and has baffled me ever since the game released.

Same goes with the Master Chief’s armor… what happened?!

New devs, new art direction.

343 decided to change it just cause.

The ship? Was half a ship and been drifting.

Armor? Cortana did that with nano bots… Next.

Cortana slightly modified Chief’s armor while he was in cryo sleep. Nanotechnology or something similar. He’s still wearing Mark VI armor, just slightly upgraded. Old tech compared to the new Spartan IVs.

It’s not a matter of ‘art direction’

Forward Unto Dawn was split in two and that was made pretty clear in Halo 3 (Before, After)

In Halo 4, the Dawn is completely unrecognizable.

So your saying that a change in the way it looks has nothing to do with art direction? It has EVERYTHING to do with art direction, the look simply changed because 343i are new developers and needed to change it for level design reasons, and they decided to go all out.

It’s called a retcon.

There’s nothing about Cortana using nano tech to change the Chief’s armour, in the game (she only ever mentions updating the suit’s firmware). But it’s assumed, since the Gen2 armour DOES use nano technology to upgrade itself. So it’s more then likely a retcon as well.
