Halo 4 Forge Worlds

I believe Halo 4 should bring along Forge World with it, but with a twist. I think there should be four forge world maps on disk.

One UNSC, One Covenant, One Forerunner, and one of 343i’s personal choice.

These should all be a mix of five - six maps (Each forge world). Some new and some with layouts of those we previously loved.

What do you think.

Well considering Bungie had a hard time fitting ONE forge world on one disc, I don’t think 343 will be able to fit FOUR on one disc.

They could release them as DLC

Or maybe separate disks.

well bigger is better, i think it should be like odst only it’s a fully fleshed title, 'cause soon we won’t be able to fit all the stuff on one disk. plus i think that halo 4 and (if there is one) the side project after that will be the last halo titles we will see for the xbox 360 before we move on to a new console with more proccessing and graphical capabilities and a bigger disk format

id just like a blank canvas with no hills on it to make a base and hills as a placeable object.

there could be a forge only/custom games disk like h3 odst h3 multiplayer.

I read a topic on 4 having three disks. If it does I believe 343 can pull this off too.

Like this? I want that too! :]

I think having several forgeworld type maps would be beneficial to the community as a whole, if it was done correctly. Everyone is currently upset about the lack of color diversity within Halo Reach’s community maps in MM. That problem can be solved in a number of ways. The most obvious solution is to have different forge maps people can choose from. With them, a different forge pallet can be used, which would create more diversity amongst forge creations. However, this option might reduce the number of built in maps we see with Halo 4. As we can see from Reach, people still enjoy the built in maps more than any community variant. So I propose a second option below:

A more subtle and viable option would be to create a more colorful, frame rate friendly forge pallet. This would allow players to place more unique and colorful objects on the screen to make their map stand out from the rest. I know people have been talking about skins, but with the current Halo engine, that seems like a stretch. What I suggest is making blocks of the same size and shape, but give them varying textures and physical properties. The concept is quite similar to skinning objects, but they would have their own unique section in the forge selection.

I’m not hoping for the reinvention of the wheel here. I just hope frame rate and the color pallet are addressed for the next game.

A flood forge world? No flood themselves, just like isolation. Only forge world size.

We need something like Far Cry 2 has. If you put that in halo, that would be the best thing ever made. I think 343 could pull it off, but forge will probably just be the same old thing.

hey that was my post! glad you liked it

I rekon they should 5 or 6 maps not huge, just something like a medium sized map. ice map, grassy map, hills, island and a city

That was an exaduration on Bungie’s part, to be humorous; “This map’s so big we can’t even fit it on the disc!

And even if it wasn’t, simply having all of the built-in maps be variants of the canvas maps would save space.

All the built in maps should be fully forgeable in Halo 4. If there are Forge Worlds then we should be able to change the environment (ie, grass, snow, woodland, sand).
