This topic is about the three different Forge Worlds.
Impact:
In my opinion, impact is great. it has some open natural locations and a little bit of a 343 twist. I say Impact is “Forge Worthy”. However, I would suggest you get rid of the two light towers on Astroid #2
Erosion:
As expected, Erosion is a beautiful map. But in my opinion, it is not “Forge Worthy”
Yes it does have natural locations, but because of all the hills and caves it is extremely limited when it comes to forgeing. The interior building is perfect for editing, but with the tools that we have now, editing in a box is almost unessecary.
Also the large uneditible building in the middle of the map is a big throw off.
Ravine:
Like Erosion, Ravine is beautiful, but the terrain is set up in a way that says to me, you either can edit the large grassy area with all its speratic rock formations and forrunner structures, or the large forrunner building off the edge, also its very off putting. However, I have to admit, the Ravine (canyon) area was an awesome idea.
I think that these “problems” are making these maps very limiting. Where are the open fields and the small pockets made just for making completly custom maps with a natural feel. What Ravine and Erosion are saying is “You can either edit the natural spaces that we made for you, or make your own completly from scratch with a limited amount of objects”.
I think that this needs to be discussed. Dont get me wrong, I love the maps, it just seems that these were made last minute, cause it looks like a playground, not a Forge World. You can leave Impact, that one is good. (imo) The thing that irritates me the most is that in none of the areas in all three maps is a place where I can remaster any of my maps previously made from Halo 3 - Halo Reach
On a side note, are there going to be any forgable foliage?
Please comment, I would love to see your opinion, or wether you agree or not. Thanks for reading.
