I was just thinking what if 343i made halo 4’s forge a little bit or like farcry 2’s map editor where you get to add hills or mountains to a solid flat land but have all the forge items still have the aspect of halo and also if you dont know what farcys 2’s map editor looks I have a link to it to the right -------> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ff-W4PZn0LE
So if you like this idea or dont like this idea post a comment in the comment section below and fill out the poll.
This is Redhornettt AND thank you for taking the time to read this article PEACE OUT!
Nope! Only thing I would like to see are terminals and integrated AI. I already enjoy the maps 343i make’s. I have also heard of this so called “skins” idea too for maps. Sounds interesting, but we will have to wait’n see what happens. :^)

AI would be a awesome addition to forge for like big kool wars
How could anyone in their right mind say “no” to a proper map editor that includes Forge? I’m simply astounded. I, for one, would love the extra features! Halo is long overdue for a real map editor.

All games run on a certain type of platform, with give on and give off properties.
They must all push certain boundaries of core game play code, without losing the standard of graphics they contain. Halo is no different. Halo 4 will perform at a level that cannot be matched, but other aspect’s of Halo will most certainly get left out. Such as the quality of forge, theater, and firefight…However, the way it is looking right now, I don’t know why, but I do in fact truly believe that 343i has pushed the Halo 4 engine to the max and I feel that halo will be well taken care of this year. Lastly, as far as my own additions I would like to see in halo 4. I do not care anymore. I can already see the BS rhetoric of a post before I even read it. So, enjoy flaming the community with far cry and other non-sense. I’ll keep my ideas to myself from now on.
there’s a few reasons why forge as it is, is superior to a map editor like Far Cry. For example, with forge the genius comes in how people are able to use their surroundings and the pieces they have at their disposal to make something unique. They have to really consider how to take pieces that have been used in a thousand maps and make/ use it in an original fashion. Now Of course you can argue that you can set up a terrain editor and still have similar results, but then it becomes an issue of where the terrain editor stops and forge begins. I can go on forever continuing this conversation but It’d just bore you.
tl:dr - Forge > Map Editors
I myself believe a far more engaging editor tool for forge would be welcome…as it is… Forge world tends to get a bit stale…for every 20% of really amazing maps your left with 80% that are just run of the mill…and the continued rotation of already known and studio built maps begin to become common place too…there good…but I think it’s always important to create freshness and newness…to have players always wondering what they might find next…it also allows for more ownership and immersion for players in this world…I myself have still to this day always wished for a big team battle map , on a large scale that was a city landscape of new Mombasa , after the covenant invasion much like ODST…except not to be limited by certain precepts like death zones because I wanted to get on that ledge on a 5 story building…having a pro tool editor would allow me to create my part of the halo universe, …an investment…in a universe I love… I would keep coming back for that…

Cartography is not about skill; it’s about creativity!
