Halo 4 Forge Special FX MUSIC

I’m a big fan of Halo, and through all of the games I’ve played one of the biggest things that improved my experience was the amazing soundtracks. These musical themes have made the series more emotional, given it a lasting impact. From the Opening Suite of Halo CE, to the sacrifice and price paid by Noble Six at the end of Halo Reach, We Remember the music.

In stark contrast to this, I’ve always been disappointed by the cold silence of Multiplayer and Custom maps. True, the experience isn’t the same as an overarching story campaign, but is there no room to set a mood? I can only imagine the intensity of firefights blazing in Matchmaking to the sound of Tip of the Spear, or pushing out of the base to the enemy flag while hearing Brutes in the background. I think it would make the Matchmaking experience better overall.

I do not believe that it would be all that difficult to incorporate. The music is built into the game, it’s on the game disc, why not use it? It should be simple to incorporate. For player use, it could be as simple as adding a separate Special FX category of items known as Musical FX. You can place any one orb on a map via Forge, with an orb for every available soundtrack option in the game.

I think this should happen, and I encourage you to promote the idea, to let 343 know that you want this feature. Also, I’d love to see what musical experiences in the Halo games were the most memorable to you. What song is your favorite?

Excellently written!

I agree also. It would go well with these new ‘trait zones’, they’d be ‘music zones’?

343 needs to realize that forging with more than one player is dumb and nobody does it after the first week the game is out. I think you’d be able to do a bunch of these cooler things if forge was limited to one or two people. Either way idk about whole soundtracks that might be crazy hard to implement. I would mind ambient sound placement though.

Great idea OP! I’d love to see this happen.

That’s not a bad idea either. I just assumed a singular orb for song over the whole map, but if it’s done in zones you could change the track when you move across the map. The only problem I think would be zone overlap.

I see multiple people forging every single day that I play Halo… I build most of my greatest maps with my friends.

2 players is fine. Forgeing with more than two players you can’t even think to build a competitive map. A little lag and the whole map get’s messed up. idk I’ve always been against forging with other people and I rarely see it done.

I really like this idea and it seems like a definite possibility with forge, even though it might not be possible for whatever reasons I have to say it would be pretty cool to have. another thing that would really make this feature cool is the level of customization that you could do to the music within the said zone.

I think my strongest memory was the Warthog run at the end of Halo 3, on the mission Halo, The Way the World Ends, tied forever to Halo Finale

That would be really cool, but it might get irritating after a while.

That’s exactly what I was thinking. People will just have it on every map and abuse its intended purpose. :expressionless:

That, or they could offer two sub-modes for forge. A fully fledged forge available only for single person play, and a very dumbed down version for multiplayer.

They made Soundtracks for a reason. Play the Halo Soundtracks from your Xbox while gaming online. I know it’s not the same experience but I’ve been doing it since Halo 3 and it really makes a HUGE difference on the way I look at scenery in Halo, the way I look at guns, vehicles, maps, and even play in Halo. It’s something that really changes everything when you play it.
