Halo 4 Forge Map - Orbit 2v2

Hi! I’m making a thread to showcase a map I have been working on for some time! This map is a 2v2 competitive map named Orbit!

TRAILER

This is a trailer I created showing off the map and the gametypes it can be played with.

Weapons on Map:
Energy Sword x 1
SAW x 2
Boltshot x 4
Light Rifle x 2
DMR x 2
BR x 2
Magnum x 2

Power-Ups on Map:
Speed Boost x 2

As stated earlier, the map is designed for 2v2 play and I hope to try and get it incorporated into Team Doubles. Please give me opinions and provide ways that you think I could improve the map.

If there is anything else you would like me to add to this post, like gameplay videos or perhaps even screenshots, then ask. I shall add those to the post immediately.

Few tips on editing.

  1. Make use of the soundtrack. Edit to it, and use something that isn’t so wubby. I was tempted to turn it straight off.
  2. Don’t use first person. It doesn’t show the map very well, and third person close to shots works well
  3. Redo camera shots. One, consistent direction without chopping and changing
  4. Show off key things in the map
  5. Don’t use transitions like rolling. Fade on occasion where it suits
  6. Give it a bit more structure. It really helps to get your point across.

If you want an example of that kinda stuff, check here. It’s a video that was created for thehalocouncil for their forge feature maps.

Other than that, the map looks pretty good. Sightlines look a bit too open, and i’m not sure about 2v2 extraction.

I will be creating a showcase video showing off every part of the map, why it’s there and ways you could use those areas to your advantage in game!! It shall be on this thread tommorow (hopefully!)

Also, to Oli The G, Thank you for your criticism! I’ll say that I also dislike Dubstep, but that was one dubstep track I actually really liked and it was a Halo 4 Remix, so I just thought it fit perfectly.

I was pretty much identical to you when I started off. Just keep working at it and it will come.
