Every one knows about the new free forge map 343 has just released and how they where talking about it made it sound like the best forge map yet but when it came out it didnt seem as good as 343 was portraying it but over its a good map and can be approved on but starting with the nice things about the map.
Pros
-the great size the map has for free available forging such as floating fortresses and big ships.
-the new forging scenery rocks, and trees.
Cons
-the little amount of land there is to build on(hurts the forgers who like to have a huge are to work with EX. forge world in H.R.
-Cant forge under water. back in halo reach forge world had the perfect level on how far you can go under water without dying making it nice to make maps where you can walk in water to look like a sewer.
-NO UNSC AIRCRAFT. now come on this is a no brainier the unsc should have an easy to use aircraft that is usable in forge the covonant get the banshee where is the hornet or falcon with such a big map forge island would be the best for a air battle between human and covenant.
when forge island was announced i thought it would be epic but now playing on it for the first time is a big disappointment on a consummers point of veiw(my opinion)
Sure, some more land would have been nice, but I’m guessing it’s mainly due to the technical issues- upgraded engine, 7 year old hardware, tech limitations…etc.
Besides, green screens and trees ftw. And those huge rocks are going to be so helpful. And the ability to forge inside the islands = pure awesome and pirate and flood maps!!

That should not be detracted from the map itself, rather from the game instead.
I feel that a lot of potential can be gleamed from it. A vast amount of space to work with, albeit most is open air. While the “death by water” level is higher than in Reach, you still can build relatively close to, if not just under, the water.
In all, I think Forge Island will birth many great maps for the MM experience.

Huh?
The point of forge island is to bring all of that together.
It’s got a massive skybox to work with, along with three island spaces with flat spaces to work with in one map. And you can go down all the way to the water without dying- something which Ravine didn’t have.
And you can forge inside the islands.
“We can now place rocks from our own budget that both have terrible texture and forces us to be extra careful when putting detail into our maps.”- seriously? if you call yourself a gamer and are at least a bit competent, you should be able to handle if. Unless of course you’re just lazy.
You bring all of that together with trees, green screens, huge rocks and you’ve got forge island. I mean…you do get the point of forge island, right??

You can still do some interesting things with this map, i haven’t experimented much with it but it has potential for those who forge. Also it is a free map after all so why complain?
The one thing I have done is make a maze using the green screens, the color makes it nearly impossible to see where there is a wall if you make the entire thing out of green screens and could make some fun game play if done right.

You’re kidding me right? Seriously? You’re going to start ripping on 343 this much for giving us a FREE awesome forge map?? You’re wrong on the rocks, they aren’t “textured” bad at all. They look like regular rocks, and damn good ones too. And a green screen is something 343 did for the machinma people. I don’t remember bungie ever catering to that crowd, EVER.
I also don’t remember bungie allowing us to put so many rocks and trees down either. Knock it it man, you’re the kind of disrespectful, ungrateful person is who is making the rest of the halo community look bad.

Wait, what? This is the most open flat expanse of land we’ve been given in a halo game to date as far as I can tell. The big anvil is as big as two grids!

Forge island is of no use to the real forgers who devote their time into every little detail on the map, so forcing us to add more detail to our maps with a budget that is a joke altogether, makes it better?
A Forge Island should have been more of an actual island with big flat spaces not 3 flat rock pillars.
Going down to the water? That serves absolutely no purpose since you cannot actually utilize it in anything. It’s just a giant killbox painted blue.

Yes… the Halo franchise is basically built off of one engine…
But here’s the thing- each one is upgraded massively with new tech quirks and additions (new lighting systems, coding, physics updates, etc.) and some of these changes may make it difficult or near impossible to for the devs to do what originally was possible on previous games.

Forge island is no use to “real forgers??”
Yeah…tell that to the majority of youtube forgers who spend nothing but time forging who are super satisfied with what 343i have given to us…for free.
And your original argument against forge island still leaks of flaws and inconsistencies.
> You’re kidding me right? Seriously? You’re going to start ripping on 343 this much for giving us a FREE awesome forge map?? You’re wrong on the rocks, they aren’t “textured” bad at all. Bungie did cater the machinima people, it was called forge world, you know the starting map in Reach that enabled people to branch out from there. Green screens would probably have made an appearance sooner or later.
What you’re saying is that 343 catered to the competitive community by giving it throwdown which is broken and getting dumbed down with each and every update.
1 thing added to the game doesn’t make it true that 343 listened and “catered” to a community.
The only ones currently catered to are the “casuals” since according to 343, “previous Halo’s were too challenging for them.”
NO crap it doesn’t have a vehicle that would mean recoding the entire game. THAT should have been a no brainer. Lets be realistic.
Its a breeze to forge on this. I am an avid forger i make custom maps almost daily. You might just have forge block.
NO it is NOT the same as ravine. Ravine has a yellow tint to all its pieces and this is grayish green.
PLEASE stop COMPLAINING and deal with it and lets focus on more than two positives. There are way more like the better pieces, less lighting breaks, and lets give 343 a break for a while. They don’t need 20 posts to work on something, they already know they need a lot.
They did good on this lets leave it be. 4 has a lot of issues that cant all be dealt with, 343i SHOULD no what to do and HOW. If it is at all possible they will work on it. I am sure. After all it is their job to appease the community so id doubt they are intentionally trying to screw us over no matter how it seems.

Hey, buddy. Stay on track. We’re talking about forge island’s additions here, not anything regarding team throwdown or anything else.
chill guys the reason i put this up is for 343 to look into in future forge maps. don’t get me wrong its a great map and its free which is a win and will be fun to forge
It has flat land.
It has decent sized areas to work with.
It’s free.
That’s all good, but it’s not Forge World. It isn’t massive, the land isn’t connected, there isn’t varied terrain to work with, etc. Many people would rather pay $10 for a good forge map than get an average forge map for free.
People are complaining because Forge Island shouldn’t be considered Forge World’s replacement, not because Forge Island is itself bad.
TL:DR Forge Island isn’t what people asked for, even if it is free.
