HAlo 4 forge ideas which is the most wanted?

  • unlimited budget but piece limit
    unlimited pieces but budget
    weather effects such as fog, sunnny, rain ect
    massive floor pieces instead of laying out a floor using wall pieces
    skins for forge pieces: forerunner wall, limestone, brick wall ect
    Animation pieces-pieces which do things like flash or fire a beam every 10 seconds
    Make a group of spawn points
    A longer spawn time clock (current limit at 180 seconds in reach)

lol srry that there’s no actual poll I’m new and still trying to find how this stuff works just put your choice(s) below or just ignore the poll.

All of the above because its just that easy, budgets were added to pervent grifing

I’d really just like a real map editor, like Far Cry 2’s but better. There’s no legitimate reason why Halo hasn’t had one yet.

…the engine limitations?

Hey guys I couldn’t find a decent post about this, if there already is a good one please link me to it, if not I’d love to hear all of your guys forge 3.0 ideas.

Here are some of mine:

-Tunnels; A item like a flag stand where you can choose a shape and make it cut through placed items or even certain terrain.

-Water placement

-Dead bodies/Exploded vehicles

-Ammo boxes

-Larger vehicles; I’d love to see phantoms, pelicans and even scarabs, although a scarab is probably unlikely.

-All weapons; for example the target locator which wasn’t available in forge or multiplayer.

-All vehicles; again like the falcon on the mission where you get the grenade launcher instead of the machine gun, also the forward mounted machine gun, if falcons are still in H4.

-More scenery; Like waterfalls, trees, bushes, ect.

-Larger decorative items; like whole forerunner structures or covenant tyrant guns.

-More maps; Maybe an extension to Forge world, or a completely flat world that could be a part of the forerunner planet.

-Also i know people like the idea of completely making maps which i don’t think will happen but terrain control like the sims or dust or something like that might be good.

-Grouping; as in putting a bunch of items together and group them so they all follow the same rotation and movement.

Please let me know what you think and what ideas you have for forge :slight_smile:

If there was one thing I could select for the next Forge tool, I would want to be able to insert WEATHER EFFECTS! I mean, they were promised in Reach, however due to time constraints they aren’t present today. Quite a shame really, I wanted my current map-in-development Stormfront to have…well you know, a RAIN STORM.

Those are all good ideas ^^^
They should introduce a new tool in forge that lets you shape land up or down, to make a hill or any sort of land formation, like a cliff for example or a pit or valley.
Also a little bit of customization of land type, grass length, and type of terrain like a desert, swamp, or concrete base with buildings, etc…
I think this could be all be added to forge successfully if 343 can do it right and pull off some game programming magic.

Yeah I guess those ideas are pretty good, I mean a couple of them are already sort of possible to an extent like water placement. I know you mean real water and I would love that too, but a trick you can use for now is using shield doors to simulate water. And as for exploded vehicles, you can just merge a mine or fusion coil by them to blow up right when the round starts and set them to never respawn. But I agree with you on larger vehicles, like the elaphants man those were so cool especialy sense players got them to fly lol. And I think they are adding grouping, I am not sure but I know they are adding copy/paste. I was watching one of the Halo 4 panels and somebody asked “are you going to be adding more options to forge, Like copy/paste?” And 1 of the speakers accidently said yes, while the others said “we can’t talk about it”. So I am pretty excited for copy/paste even though I might be wrong.

The creativity in forge still amazes me. Thanks dude, I never knew you could do that with water…

Im ok w/ the terrain being as it is & i doubt they will ever give us the option to change it…, but if they do i will over use it :3. Here is my grocery list for Halo 4 Forge.

-Be able to spawn at least 100 of every item at a time in Forge on a single map which means structures to weapons.

-Environmental placement in boxed in areas which would be landmasses, trees, water, weather, or Space physics that could be applied to an area & the effect would end after leaving it.

-Lighting effects would seem the same as environmental control, but its the lighting of a certain area & not the entire map much like the box area i listed before.

-Copy pasting of a highlighted area.

-Possibly AI that could be UNSC, Covenant or other factions like Forerunner & Flood, but of course they could be scripted as to defend, attack, or do nothing.

-Merge ANYTHING together except spawn pts of course

-Background sound effects such as say the idea is that Elites are attacking maybe we hear more Covy based noises or vise versa.

-Interactive objects that could vary from bridges, doors, & gates…ziplines :3. At least 10 different kinds of interactive bridges, doors, & gates that are UNSC, Covy, or Forerunner for a total of 30 different things.

-At least 10 different panels that can be linked to each of the earlier objects that were explained & each of them vary from the factions also to make a total of 30 as well.

-To spice things up a little more why not make a Flood version of every panel & interactive object that i just listed as well as Flood pod placements like seen in Halo 3 Cortana lvl.

-Objects that stay in motion. A good idea would be like Halo 2’s train station map called Terminal.

-Also we should be able to Forge out Firefight maps & would that not be the best schnitzel you ever ate because then you could map out maybe even a mission like Infamous 2 did :smiley:

These are my demands now do them or else 343 Industries!!!
Seriously though i think i about covered it all, but i did not go into detail on the little nick & knacks of the very specific nature of everything i want, but hey you catch my drift i want GOD MODE >:D

Unlimited pieces. I used almost every coliseum wall just making the floor for a base me and my friend are building, now im starting to think we might have to scale it down because of the piece limit.
