I’m not sure why everyone is excited for forge in Halo 4. So far all that 343 has shown us is that they are adding in a useless “magnet system”, attribute changing hills, and retexturing all the same blocks from Halo Reach forge. Personally I would like to see forge pieces that are editable. (I.e. a block that you can change dimensions like a hill.) Also, what was wrong with the coordinate system in Reach? They make it seem as if forging was the same as it was back in Halo 3(which really sucked). With coordinates you could do the same exact thing as with magnets! And the whole duplicate item tool is useless. If you press ‘X’ then ‘A’ in Halo Reach then you have just successfully duplicated the last piece you placed. I am disappointed so far 343. I have yet to see anything of noteworthy importance about Halo 4 forge.
EDIT: For all of those who say magnets make it easier to forge: Was forging with coordinates difficult? If you are a rapid forger then yes, magnets are for you, BUT I am willing to bet that your maps are not forged as well as a thorough forger who uses the coordinate system. Stop being babies and sucking up to 343 because they added magnets. Plus, that’s only part of this whole topic. I really would like to see customizable blocks.
‘‘Useless magnet system’’ ???
So how was that Halo 4 demo you played?
The reason most are excited is simple… THEY AREN’T YOU
Do you even Forge???
> Do you even Forge???
I have made quite a bit of maps. I know from experience that most forgers don’t know how to use the coordinate system, which really pisses me off. Magnets do the same thing as coordinates.

Have you seen the forge preview video?
The coordinate editor will be in Halo 4 forge…
And ‘useless magnet system’? ¿ESTÁS LOCO? This new feature will save me hours and will place objects more precise than I’ll ever get them.

I bet you use LB and RB to place blocks…

Except the Coordinates aren’t always matched up with different types of pieces. Not to mention each object moves a few inches when Forging with friends.
Dude, quit whining! They are doing the best they can and that’s not all they have added. Magnet system is an awesome idea! That makes forge easily better then Reaches forge! The budget looks to be bigger! What do you want? Some physics game?

And I suppose that you are thinking there won’t be lag in Halo 4?
Are they really getting rid of the coordinate system? All the new features are awesome, even the duplication one (speeds up time).

Precisely.

I usually use the coordinate editor so that everything is perfect, fyi.
You can intensify the magnet so as it clicks on right away. You can build a bridge in a matter of kiloseconds! Everything will be perfect and so much less hassle to build.
The magnet system will make it easier to align objects. How is it useless?
I absolutely love Reach’s forge system. I glad they didn’t change it up too much.

I have yes, watched the whole RTX panel infact.
IMO Forge 3.0 looks like the best to date.

No, the coordinate system is still there, don’t know why OP’s shorts are getting in a bunch.
Also, those of us who like magnet system (AKA snap), if we like it, WHO GIVES A FLYING FLAMING RAT’S A@@, you don’t HAVE to use it, so stop complaining about it.
by now they arent going to change it, crying like a 10 year old after not getting that ice cream from mcdonalds wont change that you dont get sprinkles with it.

It won’t make it easier, it will make it EASY.
Did you say that the magnet system was useless? Dude, WTF? That’s been one of the most asked for things since Halo 3’s Forge! No more long hours of trying to get an object to line up perfectly with the other objects.
