HALO 4 FORGE/CUSTOM GAMES

Ok here is some things we need for halo for (343 feel free to use all my ideas!) lol

Maps - we need at least 3 maps as big as forge world
Maps should include - 1 snowy and icy map 1 jungle forerunner map and 1 space map. ALL MAPS SHOULD HAVE PLACES TO FORGE INSIDE OF PLACES LIKE FOUNDRY

AI - I WANT TO PLACE AI SPAWNZZZZZ!!! SO MANY OPTIONS ARGGHHH!!! (brutes, grunts, flood, marines EVERYTHING! and all new enemies in campaign)

Manipulate environment - I want to be able to play with terrain or at least add water to make pools and water falls.

No Budget - just a recommend budget count for best performance ( should be very high)

Playing as AI - You should be able to make Brute spawns and have one team fight them and one team play as them. (not just brutes AL AI)

Expanding Visual Filters/effects into Climate control - They should have weather effects and you should also be able to control how harsh the condition ie few flakes, Light snow, Snowing, Small snow storm, Big snow storm, Huge snow storm and No sight. (We also need more than just snow, we need rain: mist, drizzling…all the way to Flooding and MANY MANY MORE

Tell me what you guys think!

I like this list and if you agree disagree please reply

AI spawns would be cool, and more choices for empty canvas maps would be nice, but I’m not sure about the rest of the ideas. I mean, I like them, but I doubt the would be very feasible. Any sort of terrain or weather editor would probably lead to maps that are 100s of mbs instead of a few kbs.

Right now, Forge stores all map variants as text files that are only a few kbs, which is why they are so fast to download. Customizeable terrain and weather would probably require a lot more than that to store. Even if you could store such information in a reasonably small file, I bet it would make maps extremely laggy. Especially with the weather, since it would have to render all of that in realtime. We’re probably not going to see any huge increase in budget, either.

Unfortunately, we’re probably going to have to wait for a future Halo on the next console for such things to be possible.

However, I do think there is a lot they could improve for the Halo 4 Forge. Check out this thread for a list of Forge suggestions some of us have been putting down.

We can already use visual filters so i dont think weather filters is that far of a stretch but i can see terrain being a far stretch…

A cool feature that I miss from Halo 3 is when you make a gametype it showed the name, not just Team slayer or infection.

AGREED.

yeah i agree as for what i would like to see in halo 4 here is my list

1 get rid of armor ability’s and in stead or all the ability’s just make everyone sprint and along with that bring back the equipment i really enjoyed that and maybe make it so you can carry 2 or 3 pieces of equipment instead of the be able to carrying only 1 i think that would be cool

2 firefight but with a few changes i will list a couple
1 remember when it first came out in halo ODST and you played with the stamina instead of the shield system ( as an ODST in stead of a super unstoppable Spartan) well make it so you can switch mods play as a Spartan or an ODST i know there probably wont be ODST in halo 4 but you don’t have to have the multi-player follow all of the campaign.
2 bring back every enemy the from all the game (including the new enemy who ever it is ) and also make it so you fight the flood that would be cool and like reach have so you change up the wave (edit the number of waves change the foes you fight ) and mix all the enemy in one intersting fight

3 having a map like forge-world and improve the forge
1 make it so you can forge firefight and structure, weapons, spawning (both player and enemy) that would be cool

2 make it you can change the terrain ( so you can change it to a jungle or an arctic tundra or a desert stuff like that) also have it so you can add trees, hills, ponds .

3 make it so you can add weather effect make it rain snow stuff like that

4 change the Bidget system to a byte system list how much space you have that keeps the map stable list how much space ever individual object takes up and then add a reference chart or something like the show how much space should be use for the make a good feeling map and break in down into groups like weapons, scenery, structure and spawning ext…

> We can already use visual filters so i dont think weather filters is that far of a stretch but i can see terrain being a far stretch…

I’m not so sure about that…A color/light filter can simply be applied to a final rendered image essentially as an afterthought; it doesn’t need to calculate any 3D information. I’m pretty sure weather effects are a little more complicated. For weather effects, it has to render 3D particles, and distribute them throughout the area of vision. If you want the particles to react naturally with the environment, it takes even more calculations.

Still, if it can be done without causing lag and/or large file size, it would be awesome, so hopefully I’m wrong about this.
