I’m sure a lot of you here are striving for that awesome Vanguard armour and don’t aprove of the CTF one for whatever reason.

I am too trying to now achieve vanguard armour. I just recently got the “commando” helmet and “dominated” embelem. Celebrates. I worked out that *Forerunner Destoryer is not as bad as i thought.

Of corse the “Craweler Sniper” commendation is very off balanced, but is in fact the make or break commendation of this armour.

I’m nearly half way there and i have some wisdome to shine upon you!

When trying to do this commndation, just focus on “Crawler snipers” and maybe “knight commanders” only! You will without fail get the others on the way. At first i’d advise you to play the Mission “The gate” over and over, until your “Forrunner enemies killed” is up to about 50%-60%. This is pretty time consuming, but it is not bad. If you have the “Gunner” perk from the “Pathfinder” Specilization you should have no problem doing this mission on easy in under 10-12 minuets. There are a minimum of 160 foes on this map (All promethean) with a maximum of about 280 (Taking a bit more time) maybe more than 18 mins.

This should only take a couple of hours to do. I found my Forrunner destoryer went up about 1% or maybe even 2-3% (Sometimes!)Everyt time i played the mission. The best motivator of this commnedation is to always be aware that you are progressing.

Once you reach 50-60% and the percentage starts to slow down to about 1% every 2 mission go onto the mission (Epsiode 1 - Chaper 3) “the fortress”. Now focus purely on snipers. Take this oportunity to mess around with your loadouts and level up if you are no SR130 already like me. Test yourself. Try and set challenged for you games like beat a certain time or don’t die to make it less boring.

My advice during the level i’d say let all of the watchers spawn crawlers! Don’t kill them too soon or you may loose kills!

The number of snipers on this mission is anything between 8 and 16. At this point you will have to play this mission a bare maximum of 200 times. Yes, it’s friggin lots! but level yourself. Try and do 10 missions a day every day to make it less tedious.

Before you know it, you’ll be on your way! You may even want to replay the mission “The gate” until you master “Kngiht commander” or if you are getting bored, try out other missions with prometheans.

This is very interesting. I am looking at the Excel chart you linked to, and it is well written with very useful information. I will refer to the chart for the number of enemies so I may master the enemies I have yet to finish. I plan on defeating both Covenant and Forerunner enemies. The only problem would be Backstab, but I can go into one of the season 6 missions and farm that.

As much as I want it, I got put off with the amount of time I’d need to farm just to get the helmet.

I think I worked it out to be around 80 hours and that’s just because of Crawler sniper…

Actually, the mission “Spartan Miller” (Episode 5 chapter 1) is the best by far for Forerunner Destroyer. It has the highest concentration of enemies with 4 of the 6 Promethean variants having the highest numbers to kill in this mission.

Played on easy, because of course when going for commendations only, why try a harder setting, this mission takes around 14-16 minutes.

As for Crawler Snipers, if you play episode 1/chapter 3 over and over you will get that commendation quicker. How? Well, there is a catch. After watching the opening cutscene, there is a crawler sniper immediately to your side. Kill it, then restart the mission. Yes, it’s tedious as you’ll have to wait out the roughly 15 seconds or so of the cutscene again. However, that is far FASTER than replaying whole missions over and over with at most 6-7 Crawler Sniper kills, taking about 15 minutes.

With regards to Knight Commanders, there is a way to get more to spawn on the mission Spartan Miller. Simply leave a few watchers alone. When the Commanders Spawn kill them. If done right, the watchers will respawn two more Commanders. While there is a later mission in SpOps that has 4 Commanders, that mission takes longer to complete and has a mix of both Covie and Promethean to fight, thereby negating some of your Forerunner Destroyer commendation progress.

I just finished my forerunner destroyer yesterday. It took a couple days of gameplay but overall it was not that bad.

I saw Alpha Crawlers there in that vid. How many sniper crawlers in that 1 1/2 minutes? My method brings you 1 every 20 seconds with cutscene, play and reload time. I’m thinking that’s still faster than what you showed. You’d have to have killed at least 5-6 sniper crawlers in the time of your vid to best my method. Again, I didn’t see that many in the vid. I might try this though to verify how many sniper crawlers killed per the vid.

you get 3 crawlers every 500 seconds. Just do what you see in the video. I completed forerunner destroyer in 2 days because of this video be cause you get so many commendations at once.
