Why did halo stop making PC versions of the game? They’re missing out of SO MUCH MONEY by doing it. It’s really disappointing to me that I can’t buy a copy of Halo 4 for pc on steam or anything for that matter and play it on my PC
Instead, I have to deal with buying a whole new Xbox because my last one broke after about 3 years of owning it. Then after I buy my copy of halo 4 and new Xbox, I have to pay in MORE money for xbox live and MORE money each month or h/e long the sub lasts. I hate consoles and this all seems like too much work just to play a new game on an out dated console. PC is so much better, and still Microsoft -_-
I wouldn’t even mind paying the monthly sub and using it on games for windows, connected to the Xbox servers and possibly host it for the consoles so everyone can have a far more superior connection speed. But instead I’m stuck playing WoW and terrible FPS’s like Call of Duty… It gives me shivers just thinking about it. I’m sure Halo could easy surpass CoD if it just delivered to PC as well as Xbox. It’s senseless to make your game exclusive to outdated hardware that forces you to hold back the graphics just so you have Microsoft’s financial security. HALO has a name for itself and doesn’t need to be exclusive. Well, maybe keep it away from Kinect and Wii. Kinda makes me sad that the game I grew up playing isn’t available to me anymore due to something so stupid as to Xbox’s horrible hardware. If not halo 4, then make halo 5 for PC. And if it’s due to something like piracy, well it’s like the great Gabe Newell said himself, “The only way to beat pirates is to offer a better service than them.” And you guys can easily do that. Are you under an extremely long contract? Try to get Microsoft to bend the rules of it to allow a PC service of it, convince them you’ll make way more money BECAUSE YOU WILL!
pc games get pirated alot so they would struggle to sell, plus keeping halo on the xbox means people pay for gold, a xbox from microsoft, etc…just keeping it in the family :’)
If you offer it for pc through games for windows, you still need to pay for xbox live time for online services. Still giving microsoft money.
There is always a way around restrictions. Especially on PC.
but i doubt they would make it cross platform even if they did so it would cost them a hell of alot to get servers up and running (or repurpose them) and people would just set up private servers so people would get the game and online for free
But these things happen with every pc game. Every last one. But they still are successful, they still make a lot of money. They still make people happy. There’s no legitimate reason other than a contract, for them to stay on only xbox.
Most of the time the only reason I would like to have PC ports of console games is because I prefer keyboard and mouse. Never been that obsessed over graphics.

Sorry, but no. Windows Live is free.
I voted no. Multiple platforms means less attention.
The xbox has few enough exclusives as it is, so NO.
Always makes me pay for live to connect to the servers, i can log in and access my saves without it but for matchmaking it’ll tell me to activate my account. But mostly the point of paying for xbox gold membership is to support all the servers they need to maintain. On PC you can easily set up one person in the game to be a host for that game.
There is more money by restricting this game solely to the Xbox 360. I’m pretty sure any genius hacker that wants to take his time converting Halo 4 to the PC can accomplish such a feat. The game was created on a network of computers.
But how is there more money to only have it on Xbox 360? I want to obtain my copy, legally for PC. And don’t forget the thousands of sales lost on console games just because people lent their games to their friends.
There’s them having to purchase new consoles, but Microsoft shouldn’t have to make their sales off of people needing to buy new consoles after their old one broke. In fact, that’s why most of my friends bought a ps3
