So is this a sign H4 is FAILING ? I HOPE NOT it had great reviews record breaking release sales and if you’ve played the multi player its just amazing unless ur just one of those people that hate change. Sure it fell slightly short profit wise in comparrison to H3 and REACH in the 1st week but it still did great. So my question is if this is just a temorary holiday thing or the new list price (i hope not) because hell 2 months ago both REACH and HALO CE where 40$ new and REACH is over 2yrs old. If 40$ is the permanent price for H4 then 343 is really selling itself and more importantly its FANs short in exchange for fair weather fans that’ll maybe play the game twice. Where as I and many of you who have been long term fans got stuck paying 60$ for something that is now a month later only worth 40. Not with all games but with HALO I always felt lik I was making an investment now i just feel screwed…if the price doesnt come back up after the season my HALO carrer may come to an end

Buying video games in this gen are never an investment. Perhaps buy something for the commodore 64 if you want an investment. Video games have been put down before Christmas because no one wastes money on them due to the poor economy. I think that it may go back up in price, if you look at skyrim last year it went from £45 to £20 during xmas then went back up to £40 afterwards.

But you will have to look at your local stores deals if you want more information.

The price just says something about a games quality and longevity as stated Reach stayed up in price for 2 years and black ops was 50$ right up until MOD 3 came out. I guess the cold realization that game makers only care about making money and not a bit about the people there getting there money from i mean just look at all the random -Yoink- that has the HALO brand on it it’s getting almost as bad as Disney it just pisses me off i dont need to feed there greed but the more i look into it the more im realizing it is probably just a holiday promo. THANKS for the feedback people

Its 17th Dec. many games(not only games) gets price cut o_O
You should go out more often into the real world and visiting real shops in Person, not only virtualy. o_o

Price =/= quality of product. Not when it comes to games. Some of the best game are dirt cheap, like Trials Evolution. This is just the christmas sales period, and Halo 4 is an obvious game to price drop for more sales, since its sold a crap tonne already.

I bought Skyrim for $20 a couple weeks ago. Man, that game must suck, amirite?

Holiday sales. Also, the quality and popularity of games rarely have anything to do with retail prices. Pretty much any console game released in the last two months including Black Ops 2, Far Cry 3, Hitman Absolution, and others has been $40 or less in the past week.

No it wasn’t enough i pasted that speech in another forum i need answers and opinions damn it !!! and if that’s all you had to say why bother at all ? thus far though i have found all this very helpful and hope people continue to leave feed back and for the record the other halo forums turned into more about if Halo sucked or not I’m not debating that just the price drop( i honestly think the multiplayer is f***ing AMAZING and the story was just plain great as well)oh and i do leave my house but not to check game prices not to mention I expect 99% of games to drop price dramatically and rapidly but when it comes to the KING of FPS HALO I expect longevity and even to a certain extent COD.

If you own steam, you would not be surprised because you’d start knowing when all the periodic sales happen.

Price might not equal quality, but it does reflect public opinion.

Reach’s price dropped to $20 after the first year I believe.

Halo 3’s price was at $20 in the summer of this year, nearly five years after the game released.

Isn’t it kinda ironic how what many say is the best in the trilogy remained the highest priced? Funny how that happens.

(P.S. It was about $40 in 2009, two years after release.)
