Halo 4 follower is bad for the community

He is filling peoples heads with speculaton and and stupid ideas, and passing them for something that is almost fact,“343 seems committed to making the weapons sound good which means they will be more focused on multiplayer than campaign” things like that seep into the community and spread like a tumor making people belive this nonsense as if it were fact.

While I do think he’s doing the right thing with his channel (keeping people updated etc.) he doesn’t seem like the right person to do it. Half the things he says are either rumors or speculation.

Sadly, his channel and his videos are quite popular so I don’t think he’ll be stopping anytime soon.

His updates are frequent, he has a good commentary voice, and when he says stuff like ‘‘343 seems committed to making the weapons sound good which means they will be more focused on multiplayer than campaign’’ that is just his estimates. he never says they are true, he is not bad for the community, the more hype the better i say.

ray thomson is way better. Just my view

Yeah his news reporting needs to leave out his personal thoughts and just go with the known “legit” news. And this may not happen till he is old enough to shave. Until then I’ll prefer to get my news from Sarge or Lopez. Heh you just got Sarged.

> “343 seems committed to making the weapons sound good which means they will be more focused on multiplayer than campaign”

I don’t get that. So becasue 343 is making the weapons sound like weapons. That means 343 will focus more on the multiplayer than campaign. I hope this guy realizes that the same weapons are also used in the campaign. That means the sounds will benefit the multiplayer as much as it would for the campaign.

I’ve never heard of this guy.

Well saying they’re more focused on multiplayer definitely wasn’t the right thing to say.

What’s the matter with speculation? I like to see the ideas of others.

Sadly he has not as much updates as H4F has…

Sure, This guy may not be giving out pure facts, but at least he’s stirring up excitement for the game. Anyone who really follows Halo realizes that a lot of what he said is most likely wrong, and he’s pulling this stuff straight out of his rear, but think about how this could excite people outside of the Halo community or even just casuals. Let’s face it, after the abomination known as Reach, we need SOMEONE to stir up anticipation for a true Halo game.
After all, people are attracted to news that makes bold predictions and bold statements. Boring, average headlines, do nothing to get people’s attention. Halo4Follower is doing a good job of making people excited for Halo 4 and I think that’s what we need right now.

Pretty sure calling out individuals is against the rules.

If you have a problem with this person, bring it up with them.

But to be fair, there hasn’t been much info at all. H4F just pulls stuff out of his… well you know.

Let me tell you why.

It’s because this community has a habit of believing rumors a bit too much, and often considers them to be facts. The Halo community is all great and all, but they also have the nasty habit of taking little pieces of information and twisting those out of proportion, creating their own “truth” on top of that which will inevitably cause conflict with the actual game.
Say what you say, but we have a lot of such “dumb” people in this community. You know, the kind of people who also buy Halo Wars expecting an FPS without checking what the product actually is. The kind of people who come up with completele scripts for upcoming Halo games and then see the real game isn’t like that and start raging because it’s not as awesome as they thought it would be.

Halo 4 follower might try to do good, but he also passes vague rumours and his own speculation as facts without ever saying: “mind you guys, these are just rumours/speculation, let’s wait and see if they are indeed true”. Look at the retarted posts beneath his videos…he already has people expecting things you know they shouldn’t expect over there. Maybe not deliberately, but in a way he’s not the best thing for this community.

^He doesn’t state them as facts, quite the opposite he often says that it is his own speculations and when he so rarely doesn’t, it should be obvious that it is. H4F is great since he helps the entire FPS community become aware of Halo 4’s approaching presence.

This is old news he did the same thing for Halo Anniversary. He also tried passing off concept art from Halo wars and Halo 3 odst off as Halo 4 art. Plus he has been on Waypoint trying to promote his videos by telling lies like “Check this guy out he has videos on Halo 4” “I can voche for him” “Look at my videos”. Pretending to be others just to get more followers.

Peter Molyneux IS a developer and creator and does much worse than this. He literally talks about what “he wants” in a game like it’s going to “be in” the game and then when it releases, it has .000001% of what he talked about, nowhere near as interesting as it was described.

He honestly screwed the pooch on the Fable series just by saying “Oh I want this in there…It might make it!” and then when Fable: Lost Chapters was announced, he mentioned it would have everything he said it would originally. He only added 1 new map, a few new titles and a few weapons. It was no different.

This is why I stop getting over hyped about games. Things get cut, pushed, etc drastically nowadays than ever. I don’t expect anything but a weeks worth of play from a game. That generally makes all my purchases all worthwhile.

343 should be the ones to promote Halo 4 with real factual information. Not people who have assumptions.

Just saying.

Yeah in the last months we’ve heard a lot from 343. If they didn’t want a guy like Halo Follower to show up they shouldn’t have announced it 18 months before the game is coming out. And he’s mostly speculating, neither assuming or stating anything as facts.
