Halo 4 flood Vs Halo reach Flood

Now I dont’t mean to spark up some arguments or bashing, but I wanted to share my thoughts about flood.

I went back to reach a week or so ago when a sudden spark of inspiration to reach inheritor arose (and swiftly faded away). I noticed that I enjoyed those flood games more than halo four and here’s my reasoning:

  1. Game’s weren’t as short, and could take a while due to map flow/potential vantage points

  2. Flood weren’t zipping all over the place with their thruster packs (Don’t get me wrong, flood thruster packs are very, VERY fun)

  3. I could actually kill people without them flying into my face at two hundred miles an hour and then disorienting me and slashing my spartan into oblivion.

  4. it was just you, your shotgun, and the flood. no fancy armor abilities or weapons (although infestation or whatever with all the different weapons in halo 4 is an interesting twist)

Now I’m not saying Halo 4 flood is bad, it’s just these things caught my eye as I played through my reach matches. Anyone else have things they like/dislike about flood? Let us discuss! (or not)

Reach Alpha Zombies was one of my favorite playlist, I was really disappointed with Halo 4’s version of Infection.

After just over a year, I have given up any hope that 343 will make a gametype like that for Halo 4, they just are not interested.

A majority of people dislike halo 4’s flood because it’s harder.

People flocked to reach’s infection because it was a kill farm. I played a ton of reaches infection and alpha zombies was just a terrible idea. Back when zombies had evade is when it was good.

Halo 3 infection was my personal favoutite!

I am more than willing to admit Reach’s infection and flood blows halo 4’s out of the water, and there’s 2 things that kill it for me. AA’s, and your customization being thrown out the door. I liked running around in my medic-looking kit in reach, blasting the xenos for the emp-

One major improvement however was actual flood. I liked that quite a bit.

Hivemind?

Whether on Reach or 4, I absolutely despise starting out straight away as a flood member, only to turn and see my partners in crime standing there in that AFK pose.

Other than that, I thoroughly enjoy Flood/infection when up to it. Still hoping for a flood firefight or something similar in future installments.

Just to put it into perspective, more people played Living Dead a year after Reach’s release then play the entire game of Halo 4 a year after release.

Turning your back on a huge fan-base that enjoys a gametype is the terrible idea.

hmm, I never have really thought of Halo 4’s flood as “harder” in a sense, I just disliked it, perhaps even thought of it as broken. But I still enjoyed it to a degree, so harder definitely puts a good term to the word.

Reach’s Alpha Zombies was perfection. It was fun, it wasn’t balanced, the humans had the advantage but it was FUN! 343 tried too hard to make Flood balanced. If flood was just Alpha Zombies but with the Flood bodies then it would have been good, but alas it was not to be. Hivemind is pretty fun, but not as fun as Alpha Zombies. I can still remember all the fun I had with my friends in Halo Reach…my favourite MP game of all time.

Yes, but that was the fun part of Infecktion. Infecktion was about getting a tons of kills and staying alive.

Nobody wants to play flood competitiv. If you ask me, the flood are more powerfull than the humans in flood. I can kill all humans very easy with my thruster pack and the ridicilous range of the flood meele.

Its no fun when the round ends in 2 mins and I go out of it with like 10 kills and 6 deaths

Have you guys been to the Flood playlist recently? Theres Hivemind too yknow. Something I enjoy infinitly more than the pistol sniping BS from Reach. Yes default Flood sucks I think we can all agree, who`d want to play a game with invisible humans and flying zombies? Not this guy.

Just dont forget about Hivemind when youre bashing H4s Flood. Its awesome.

The LMS portion of the Hivemind gametype is infuriating on any map but Drillsite, which almost never comes up. I can’t stand Hivemind because of that.

Give me regular Flood on Malice or Serenity any day over that.

I have a CSR 40 in the flood playlist. Hivemind is one of the best infection game types there is, maybe better than halo 3’s infection.

However the “Flood” game type is terrible. Invisible spartans that effect your auto aim so you can’t even lunge and flying flood, no thanks.

My only problem with the playlist is how it selects who is a flood. I started as a flood for all 3 rounds once. Sometimes I go all 3 rounds as a human. Out of the 10 people in the game only 6 will start a round as a flood. This leaves 4 guys with a big advantage.
