Multiplayer feedback.

The shield regen delay is out of sync with the pace of the gameplay. (delay too long)
Comparing H4 to H3 multiplayer, in H4, we have shorter time to kill (TTK) and faster movement speed. (Shorter TTK results from shorter optimal TTK, hitscan weapons, and stronger magnetism) The shield regen delay however, wasn’t adjusted to reflect this change in game speed. Especially free for all modes suffer from the long wait time to recover after getting a kill (and having taken damage from the killed player).
The long wait time leaves me tempted to just peek and engage another player before I have regenerated, in the hopes that player won’t be able to turn around to face me in time, which is sometimes succesful and sometimes not. But considering you kill people so fast in this game, the wait window before shields regenerate would allow you to get 2 kills.

Something tells me that the game designers wanted the player to take cover and wait until they regenerate, but dying and respawning is just as fast, (and you get your nades back) so why would I wait for my regeneration if I only have something to gain from trying to get more kills while my shields are down? (In FFA modes it hardly matters for you that an enemy gets a point should you die from being too impatient.) The game as such doesn’t really encourage the player to wait for their shields to regenerate. (Sure, in team modes it does, since a death is advantage to the enemy team)

I would suggest reducing the regen delay by one second. But I don’t expect it will be changed because then the game “wouldn’t be Halo 4 anymore”, which is a fair argument to make. However, I remember a loadout option being present in original H4 which reduced shield regen delay, and it is somehow not available in the flight. (Maybe it was removed during the weapon balance update?)

Feels very counter-intuitive in the customization screen. Also in a game of KotH, instead of a waypoint or marker for the hill, a one by two inch white block took up my screen. Also some weird stuff going on with the dead bodies. I keep seeing severed legs running around maps.

Social Matchmaking in PC. The death replay shows only service tags but not the player model.

Echoing this. The game runs just fine without them filled; it only throws a fit when you go and try to change a setting. This is especially bothersome for purely controller players, who can’t even adjust their controller settings until the binds are set. Please make it merely warn you about unbound actions rather than forcing you to go in and fill them up.

Using cloak on Halo 4 PC using a mouse and keyboard is kind of weird. Because you can’t control how fast you move, movement of any kind while cloaked will cause you to become completely visible. Maybe you could add a “slow walk” key binding?

Playing on pc with mkb squad battle can’t find players.

Also hope to see H4 get weapon customization with real models like the rest of the games. The loadout UI could definitely use an update.

Squad battle (6v6) is available for the entire flight along with the rotating playlist. Playlists are limited for efficiency.

Im having some majorly slow wait times to find matches.

Feels utterly devoid of people after you sit in the menu for 10 minutes hoping to get an 8v8 which is my favourite standard Multiplayer type.

I dont know if its my timing or if people are literally all in matches but damn if it isnt very annoying

Go into settings, video, then scroll down until you see experimental options and on the arrows by “60 FPS”. Click on the left arrow to see unlimited.
Also, dude increase your RAM speed

I encounter a troublesome keyboard bindings problem and i think I need to report it.
When I want to bind a Key to my mouse, I am unable to leave the binding menu. So I need to restart the game to be able to play.

Had a host migration issue in an 8v8 Infinity Slayer game on Panic Station. Host either left or disconnected, migrated to another player, that player disconnected, and the game abruptly ended, with everyone remaining in the game put into a post-game intermission lobby. Not sure what may have caused this, as the other matchmaking games I’ve played have so far had near flawless connections.

Also, controller aim assist feels a little inconsistent with the rest of the collection, although that could just be a product of the input-based matchmaking that I’m so far unaware of.

Not sure what all has already been reported, but here are two issues I have experienced:

  1. Game breaking glitch in Reclaimer mission. After destroying the first large covenant ship, the mammoth takes off but the entire floor has disappeared. Halo: Master Chief Collection - Weird Glitch in Halo 4 Reclaimer Mission - YouTube

  2. I cannot change settings to green thumb under controller. (Also shown in the video above).

It looks like players do not get kicked out a match for inactivity in social games. Will this get fixed in the future ?

The game itself seems to run fine on my rig with the exception of some bugs here and there.

This may just be a misperception, but I’ve gone back and forth between Halo Reach and Halo 4 and given the same controller settings:

  • Sensitivity (both axis):4
  • Acceleration: 5

Halo 4 accelerates really quickly as soon as you pass a small threshold.
Even if the original Halo 4 intent (In case it was) was to increase the acceleration - given the same settings among different Halo games in the collection: the result should be similar.

Just started downloading; only 15GB. Gotta say, I’m surprised the game isn’t bigger. Nice job on compression.

Got a pretty significant one. The map is missing during the end of Reclaimer.

After the Mammoth comes back online from being shot by the Covenant gunship, I went down to pick up more ammo. Came back up to find we’re driving on open nothingness, I can only see the skybox and fog below the Mammoth.

Also completion did not record after completing the level Requiem. I played it in Normal, and finished it to go into Forerunner, but it doesn’t seem to have recorded that I’m done.

Campaign Feedback

When pushing a button, the first person animation that shows chiefs hand “doing stuff” changes the FoV to the default 78, then back to whatever was set for the game. This is extremely jarring to look at.

  • Many of the community would love for them to put a 4v4 classificatory, since it is the only halo in the collection that does not bring it, it would be something incredible
