Ok we know there will be new enemies here so there would be new variations, would this include the removal of the covenant from the firefight and the introduction of something new like maybe new forms of Flood or Precursor made beings?
I would welcome a new type of enemy in Firefight. And if they could mix up the waves so they’re not predictable, it would help replay value as well. Whenever I get to the skirmishers wave of FF, I hit the wall these days. Ha. It’s a great mode but could use some more spontaneity. New, more unpredictable enemies could help do that, as could boss levels.
Also i hope each wave have their own different waves, not the whole wave come at once but part of it comes to push you out and another group comes that can take advantage of where you are.
Mainly have drones charge in if you are holed up and you will be forced to move out and the next thing you know with low shields a group of elites or if you come out in the open jackel snipers.
well although that sounds like a cool idea we dont even know who were facing (Most likley precursors)
I don’t care about what enemies we will fight. I’m sure 343 has a good idea of what they want.
What I want is Halo 4 Firefight to not just simply consist of shooting enemies and gathering points. I want it to focus on our need to survive. ODST FF was fun but the limits an ODST could go annoyed me. Reach’s FF was just not fun. The AI was ridiculous. They dodge everything and autoaim EVERYTHING.
Firefight needs to give us some goal I think that requires teamwork, something genre-defining. I’m sick of just shooting enemies and point-herding. I want to have me and my teammates feel like there is something we are working towards, not just “defend this position” when it benefits me in no way because the match is just going to end when we successfully do this.
Basically, it just needs more depth.

I already mentioned flood. I think everyone wants a bigger variety. We just have to make it in bigger demand. Consumers control the market, you know.

Okay so how about Objective based Firefight? The team of spartans has to rush to one side of the map to get an Anti-aircraft gun online, then to another waypoint to hack into a vehicle depot (to get to the map’s vehicles), then possibly grabbing the enemies’ data core. The more objectives you can attain or the quicker you get them the more points/credits you get.
Maybe a territories like Firefight. Your team of 4 spartans against the full force of the enemy. They will be trying to take all the territories. Can you small group of 4 stop them or hold the territories yourselves? More territories held at the end of the game means more points/credits.
Bomb based Firefight modes. There are 10 bases of the enemy to blow up. The quicker you can blow them up the less enemies you face. However the enemies become harder, meaning more leader/boss class. The more bases you destroy by the end of the game, the more points/credits.
I think this would be a good starting point. While I happen to like Reach’s FF, it is admittedly TOO easy to beat. (I’m still waiting on a Legendary FF playlist.)
probably either a rising of the flood, or a new enemy like the forerunners. seeing as we are allies with some covenant
Whatever enemies are in the campaign.
what a surprise
