Halo 4 Feels Like a Remake

Hear me out! Halo 4 feels to me to be a bit of a remake/rehash upon prior themes that we’ve already explored.

  • Crash landing on an alien world (Installation 04 - Requiem)
  • Stopping a terrifying new menace from leaving the planet (The Flood - Prometheans)
  • The covenant are once again a sideline enemy, with the new enemy taking a more major role. (Halo CE)

Maybe I’m being over cautious, but I can’t help but feel that the story of 4 is basically just CE all over again.

Also, it feels as if they’ve gone ‘Hey, you spent that epic trilogy saving the galaxy, but now there is another problem’. I just find it all hard to believe.

I hope it’s CE all over again…

But seriously though. You don’t know what’ll happen in the campaign. All you know is that MC and Cortana crashland on a mysterious “planet” and that there’s new enemies. But they wanted that Halo: CE feeling of exploration for Halo 4. So I wouldn’t be surprised if we get more and bigger environments

I respectfully disagree.

Didn’t 343i already say that they are trying to re-capture the feeling of CE? And that it also revolves around exploring?

I don’t mind, CE was one of my favourite Campaigns along with Halo 3.

Except the Ancient Evil is a threat on a Universal scale.

Sure, it may be the same concept. But the story itself is very different and new. Roots going back 100,000 years in the midst of the Forerunner-Flood War. Something almost certainly involving the Precursors.

I’m confident that the story of Halo 4 will not be a remake or rehash of CE. The feeling of CE, perhaps. But definetly not the story.

You don’t want to experience it all over again?

you’re right, it would be way better if master chief retired and played chess with cortana for the whole new trilogy.

what the hell else is a super soldier with a crap ton of guns supposed to do in a video game other than save the universe?

Yeah, I can see how that would be enjoyable. I personally want Halo 4 to be a big advancement in the canon though, personally.

What the hell?

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

You forgot, it also has guns, cortana, master chief, and theres a level in a jungle

Which also makes it a remake

I like it that. Feels the same, but is different. It’s makes the game fun and I love that mysterious feeling.

Well how else would we introduce the new enemy? They crash land on our planet?

I would play CE again! I love that game! If the campaign has the feel of CE, I’d be in paradise. No, I’m pretty sure that Halo 4 will have its style, but not a remake. But still, I’d enjoy it if it was a remake.

Actually…that would be pretty cool in all honesty

I’m just annoyed that to an extent, the Prometheans come out of nowhere. They’ve only mentioned in the books, and in games in a dry indirect manner.

We don’t even know what their role is in this yet. Stay patient

-Elites are not playable.
-Large-capacity, fast-firing automatic weapon.
-Weak Magnum…ohwait

Well considering the games are loosely based off the books, that’s not really surprising to me.

Their aim is to make a fresh start, so what better way than following in CE’s footsteps.

You’re forgetting some major parts there. Plus the Covenant have never been a sideline enemy.
